Season 7 episode 1 I kind wish they would have cut Rick's arm off. They hinted at it and play around at the idea so many times. Just DO IT ALREADY!

Spoiler: click to toggle He throws the axe upwards, you hear it landing on the roof. Kinda hard to hear with all the zombie noises. This episode was more horrifying than I thought it would be... This...this is why it was a good idea to not show who died last season. Imagine this episode was just them all like "Kay Negan, we'll go get stuff" and then they're just driving around collecting and being sad. Super exciting premiere? Whereas this was hard to watch, God damn.

Imagine how dull that would have been, especially if Glenn died first. OH NO GLENN DIED...oh now Abraham is dead...'kay, that's still horrible but whatever. I think they did a pretty fantastic job here, I just wanted this episode to end. Done a great job of bringing the discomfort of not knowing what could happen, even though Glenn died in the comics it wasn't immediately obvious he would. One thing after another with this episode, comic knowledge didn't do much at all. Every time Negan took that axe out I thought Rick was losing an arm. And now to wait until the last episode of the season because the middle section won't have nearly as much meat, probably. Wonder how Carol will feel about this, as one of the original crew and not even being there to help she's going to be devastated. Also props to the make up and sfx teams, holy balls.

Firefox Favourite Manga Dragon Ball, Fullmetal Alchemist, Assassination Classroom, Deadman Wonderland	This is first episode in a LOOOOOOOONG time to have me on the edge of my seat. If this episode didn't "Wow" me, I was ready to call it quits with TWD. But seven months was still a bit too long to wait for this episode, imo. I was skeptical of Jeffery Dean Morgan as Negan in the Season 6 finale, but this episode really brought about his character. It was terrifying, and I love him. He's my new favorite character on the show because he makes the Governor look like a friendly neighbor that may be a little grumpy sometimes. The only thing I don't like about Negan is his boots... imo, they are ugly as sin. Spoiler: click to toggle @The idea of Rick's arm being cut off... They said that it will never happen in the TV series. Even Robert Kirkman actually regrets doing it in the comics. Their reasoning for it never happening in the TV series is both that the CGI budget would be too much (they could do it with Merle because he wasn't a major character), and no one wants to watch Rick struggle for five minutes to open a jar of pickles. Spoiler: click to toggle The entire episode was Negan systematically destroying Rick. By the end of it, he's a shambling mess who's been massively traumatised. Negan's left such an impression on Rick that he's utterly broken. The only people who're considering fighting back are Maggie and Carl, and considering that Maggie's basically delusional at this point, that leaves Carl. Negan's really shown himself to be the big **** when it comes to the New World. The Governor was horrendous, but this is just another level entirely, and JDM just brings him to life perfectly. To be perfectly honest, JDM and AL gave emmy-worthy performances tonight.

I'm sure someone will snap him out of it. Or something, maybe Carl will be an idiot and go attack Negan and Rick won't hold back. I love Carls transformation in the series. To begin with he was an annoying, innocent little brat and now he's...well he's still annoying at times but he's almost treading on sociopath territory. Jeffrey Dean Morgan is such an underrated actor. I don't think I've seen him play a role that wasn't good. He was spot on as The Comedian in Watchmen.

And yeah I wish it wasn't Abraham that died he was getting more development, it's still a big loss but...nothing compared to Glenn. However from Negans perspective killing the huge guy was obviously a smart choice so it makes sense.

Glenn's "beat down" on the show was virtually copied panel for panel from the comic. Even the angles were the same. Even the eye thing happened, and Negan in the comic, just like the show, made a gloating comment about it being "gross". I think Glenn said "I love you" or something to Maggie.
