I'm actually glad it's not a complete action series. Killing zombies can only get so far IMO, especially when they're all pretty much the same. That was the one thing that George A. Ramero had a problem with.
George A. Ramero is responsible for the cult image of the Zombie, and he's been asked several times by the creators of the Walking Dead to direct episodes. He's refused every time, describing it as a "soap opera with an occasional zombie."
I can understand his point, but he's wrong. Plain and simple. Honestly, how much content can you get out of simply killing zombies? There's no substance to that type of plot at all, and the series would be over in 3 episodes.
The Walking Dead is about surviving in a zombie apocalypse, not exactly simply dealing with Zombies.

There is a reason all those zombie movies fail and why movies like Zombieland are better. Not purely just killing zombies and a lot of emotional stuff too.

Still though it would be nice if zombies were somehow more of a threat people do only die from stupidity like falling over nothing or selective deafness it would be nice if that was changed so all the characters wouldn't seem like total idiots, the zombies are supposed to be stupid.
Maybe they could go Land of the Dead and have them start learning, using basic weapons and opening doors(can't remember if they've ever done that) Can't easily kill a zombie with a knife if it's swinging a metal pole around.

Spoiler: click to toggle I was so happy to see Carol... and was surprised to see Judith alive. I really didn't think she was.
I haven't skimmed through the full comic plot synopsis for Abraham yet, but I was also kind of excited to see him as well. There were people wondering when they were going to introduce him, but it's great to finally see him.

Spoiler: click to toggle Told you guys Judith was alive. I also knew that it was that older girl who had been dissecting the rats and feeding the walkers. Surprised to see Carol so early again, though.

Spoiler: click to toggle So I was right about someone taking a bite saving Judith...but Tyresse? Does he die this early in the comics? He's not dead yet but surely he'll get there probably too late to amputate, unless it was scratches rather than bites.(still watching) Didn't expect this to turn in to a babysitting show I wonder what's going to happen with the older of the young girls she seems awfully...damaged, it's good that Carol taught them to defend themselves and be less scared but that one seems a bit nuts. EDIT oh ok yeah, nearly strangles Judith wow she needs sorted out... Also come on Beth, she didn't hear that walker coming up right behind her? Amateur... Seriously though, I don't remember it saying she was deaf or did the leaves etc not make any noise? I wish the writers would think of more creative scares than blatant stupidy. Wait Tyresse and Carol, tenssiiiiioooon... At this point I don't think he'll kill her on the spot but did he get bit or what? Sounded like the younger girl said she hurt him but couldn't hear properly. EDIT since when do zombies care more about fire than people they want to eat? That as a bit...off. Overall an ok episode, at least basically all the loose ends are tied up now, next episode looks better for sure.

Spoiler: click to toggle I'm pretty sure Tyreese's wound was from the Prison. Well, that or it's some other non-Walker related injury, nothing that seems to be fatal.
Loved the episode! Got to see Daryl's coping mechanism in action again and the revelation that Tyreese had Judith all along. Most of my predictions were correct, bar the one about Daryl and Beth meeting up with Abraham and his group.
Carol's return is a welcome sight. I'm hoping that she manages to keep Lizzy in check, 'cause I'm pretty sure that Lizzy was the one who killed Karen and David at this point. Carol was a little *too* accepting of the blame straight off, leading me to believe that it was nothing more than a cover-up of the actual incident.
Love the fact that Abraham's group's entrance was lifted from the issue in which they were introduced. It just looked great, plus the actors are perfect matches for them!

Spoiler: click to toggle I hadn't heard that theory before, but I guess it is possible that Lizzy was the one who killed Karen and David and Carol was covering for her. But to me, Carol doing it seems just as reasonable. She had a good enough reason for doing so.

Spoiler: click to toggle Oh, definitely. Carol's still a main contender for the position of killer. I could just imagine what Lizzy would say to Carol, though
''You told me I was weak. I'm not weak, see? I stopped the others from getting sick.''
Then Carol would've dragged the bodies out, with Lizzy's help, and burned them. Then she covered for Lizzy because, well, she promised to look after her and Mika and, for all intents and purposes, they were like her own daughters.

Spoiler: click to toggle Well regardless of the size of Tyresse's injury if it was a bite it would be fatal, it would be nice if it said what it actually was though just so we didn't have to wonder.
I'm not so sure about Lizzy killing those two she may be a psycho but would she really manage? If they were catatonic yeah but otherwise they're still adults surely they'd have been able to defend themselves. I still don't believe Carol did it completely by herself but I'm not sure about Lizzy and I doubt she would go ask a little girl to help clean up her mess if she did start it.
Maggy and Tyresse were freaking machines in this episode, Maggy more so only had a crappy knife and she still took out so many zombies. How is it that they can do that but other people fall over dandelions and get killed by one zombie with half a leg...

This episode was good. It's the first time in awhile that I have actually thought that an episode was interesting.
Spoiler: click to toggle The episode got me into The Walking Dead again because of how they split the characters up in the series. I liked how Beth actually got some character development. It seems in the last two seasons she has been "around," but not developed like her sister Maggy. I want to see how she gets involved with Daryl. This episode dove into other characters which is what I have been waiting for. I have a feeling Carol is going to get killed though. I see her not surviving after this season. If Tyrese finds out what she did, it's over for her. I had to laugh when I saw the both of them together because I realized that hell is about to break loose. What I found not funny was the fact that Lizzy was about to kill Judith. She looked psychotic. The military characters at the end looked MEANNNNN and RIPPPED. However, I hope they stick around for some episodes because they got me wondering who they are.

^Those Military characters were actually in the comics, and Abraham (the sergeant) is a fan fave amongst the comic fan base. So I see them sticking around for a while.
Spoiler: click to toggle Anyone else think Daryl will die soon, like perhaps next episode? Even Norman Reedus said that it will happen sooner or later. In addition to him being on Talking Dead next week. I see it as a possibility, in which Abraham might take over as "resident bad-ass".
I'm really hoping that they actually play into Eugene actually knowing what's going on, unlike the comic version who lied just to get Abraham to protect him.
It's cool that Michonne finally opened up about her son who died.
