I watched the first season and wasn't impressed by it. Each episode has a a great cliffhanger ending so you watch the next and it's a bonerkiller for 40 minutes until the end again.
Should I give it another chance?

Not sure, I enjoyed the first season and only the end of the second I can handle some slow parts but the second season has too much, if that's what puts you off I say try again but you probably still won't like it.
As for the new episode, hatred for Carl + 1000

There's no way he has more than maybe one clip left and he's a weak little boy, if he was up against 3 walkers again without a gun with that level of idiocy he'd just die horribly. Can't say I'd be sad  "I can survive on my own! I don't need you!" In a gated community, Carl. Good episode so far other than him being a f***ing s***, really spoiled it for me other than hoping he'd bite the dust finally. So Michonne's realized she doesn't want to be alone any more. Aw phew, thought she was going to see that Rick and Carl were safe and leave them, or get to the house and they'd already be gone. Good episode overall, hope the others are in less of a cosy situation next episode. |

Yes, that guy is considerably nastier than TV series Gov, considering what that dude did to Glenn.
I haven't actually read the comics, so I can only assume that's the guy you're talking about.
However, I have read synopses of the actual plot in the comic universe, just so I don't sound like a complete idiot when I'm talking to the Comic fans.

Loved the Carl development; being able to see the world from his point of view was a great part of it. The part where he's sat outside the window, looking at the street and eating chocolate pudding. He's accepting the new world and trying to adapt to it, trying to live as normal a life as he's able to, but the walker sticking its hand out of the window just shows that it's massively different from the Pre-apocalypse world.
His mention of Shane was low as well, though it's to be expected. When you're getting angry and flustered, you spurt things out, and Shane was always a complicated subject for Carl.
The Michonne backstory was brilliant as well, the child was expected, but it was nice to see the people in her life. Seeing such a strong character fall under the weight of the burdens and memories they've been carrying is a sight to see, and Danai pulled it off really well.
The part with Hershel's head was emotional as well. Overall, a great episode!

The development for Carl annoys me, they've been in this apocalpse for over a year and he's only just stopping being a little child, he's what 13/14? Are people that age really that stupid?
If it was a few months in to it then it'd be fine to not be adjusted.
Hoping now though that he becomes for me a likable character.

And it was also mentioned that Carl most likely doesn't know about the whole "love triangle/Judith possibly not being Rick's", so memories of Shane are a little more simple for Carl than for Rick.
