Spoiler: click to toggle Oh s***, next week things should be epic. Though it does leave me wondering why they didn't just have this Governor subplot in the second half of last season and then have this as the climax for Season 3. Feel like it would have been more cohesive and could have eased some of the tedium that the second half of Season 3 brought.
However, yeah definitely excitement. I imagine this'll be it for the Governor as the main threat though or at least it should be. Whether he'll die I don't know but I would think at best he'll lead in to the next antagonist of the series in some way. Also expecting a Big Damn Heroes from Carol, just come in and save them with a new group. Kind of wouldn't be surprised if Daryl died either. So many ways it could go, exciting.

The Governor is still craaaazyy...
Spoiler: click to toggle Loved the episode.
For the past while I've just been calling him Brian, but no, The Governor is back.
I'm confused though how long is this after Woodbury? I figured the first episode of the season might have been a month after but now it seems like it's a lot longer, can't remember if it's said how long.
Next week should be great...wonder if they actually have any tank shells? Tank is more than enough to get through the fences though.
I can't see Gov's group winning though main group are all survivors most of his group seem fairly novice, it's doubtful they have as many weapons and as much ammo too. But I believe they'll do enough damage to break the main group up anyway.

I've just watched the latest 7 episodes in 2 days! I've really enjoyed it:
Spoiler: click to toggle It seems contrary to the majority, but I wasn't a fan of the Governor episodes. I thought it was interesting, but I didn't really see the point in making him "come back" to being a 'normal' person, and then reverse course. I know it was meant to show a bit of complex character, but for me the Governor was all about him being a psychopath. Having him come back sort of took away from the craziness. Idk, might just be me. I also thought it took away from some of the momentum of the Prison side of things. I think they should have had 1 episode detailing the Governor's journey, and then back to the present-day storyline.
Apart from that I've loved it. I like the illness side of things. It's different and new. And it's about time that the fences caved in. I'm really looking forward to the half-season finale. Not so much the half-season break.

Yeah
Spoiler: click to toggle I feel kind of the same about the Governor, I liked the episodes they were great but I don't think it needed two, they could have just done him seeming normal and finding the new group and reverting back to his Governor ways. Just wastes 1 episode of other stuff like adding new characters for when current ones die, better than just thrusting them in there before the currents bodies have even went cold.
How long is this half season break? I guess it's good that it's going to be spread out more and last longer but DAMN IT.

Pretty sure it comes back sometime in February. And yeah the break sucks big time. I was really enjoying going from episode to episode. I love that feeling of 'Holy crap, I need to see the next episode' and being able to watch it. That's why I much prefer watching series' that have already finished/have a big library of episodes. Going from week to week, or season to season, and having to wait between episodes is something I hate with a passion :P I'm really impatient.

The break is a great thing, though. What would you rather;
1) Have all 16 episodes air consecutively and have to wait 36 weeks for the season 2) Have a 10-12 week break and bring the waiting time for the new season down considerably
I'm with 2, all the way.
Spoiler: click to toggle I loved the Governor episodes. It creates some real conflict; he's the antagonist, but you can sympathise with him. When all this comes to a head next week, most people will be rooting for Team Prison, but they'll also be rooting for good ol' Phily a tiny bit.
Comic Book Spoilers I really hope he shouts out the famous line at some point next week. ''Kill them all!''

But these episodes have went by so quick barely feels like a week to me T.T
Spoiler: click to toggle I don't much care for the Governors reasoning anymore, I see the point to killing people off like that guy that took over from Gov's old buddy, he was weak. As evil as it may be portrayed he made the right choice but his attack on the prison is purely personal which is a bit lame I feel, why are these random people even going to go along with it?
I think it would be better(could still happen I suppose) if he inspected the prison but decided to leave it alone, giving up on his past hatred. But then one of the prison group could kill a member of his group or something and spark up that hatred once again. Perhaps they go along with the attack because Gov' lures someone over to get shot.
As for the story I'm hoping they find some kind of military encampment at some point, seen so many dead soliders, tanks, helicopters etc and that group Gov's lot wiped out but none in it enough to become characters.

Spoiler: click to toggle The group's probably going to head to Ft. Benning once the prison falls. It's been talked about so much in the series, there's no way it's not being shown in some way. By the way, Shane was apparently right, to some degree. One of the guys in Martinez's group was from Benning, and it was supposedly safe for a while (although I'll have to re-watch and check).

DEATHS!!! Hershel- Decapitated by the Governor using Michonne's Katana Judith- Only suggested as we see her bloody carrier. Probably eaten by walkers in the confusion of the fight. Governor- Run though by Michonne, but then shot in the head by Lily (Gov's GF) after she figured out what kind of person he was. Meghan- Bitten by a walker Other random people- Mostly on Gov's side: Shot and/or eaten.
I literally jumped up from my couch and screamed "YES!!" when Michonne ran the Gov through with her Katana, however Lily was the one who dealt the final blow.
Some people are claiming that Judith didn't die because we don't see her die, and she wasn't on Talking Dead's "In Memorium". However, as an unspoken rule, they obviously can't show a baby dying, they can only imply it.

Spoiler: click to toggle HOLY GOD DAMN THAT WAS INTENSE!
When Myshonne left the Governor alive (but dying) I was praying to God they weren't leaving it open for him to come back again, but thankfully they killed him off. I was hoping he was going to get eaten alive by the walkers, but a shot to the face was still satisfying :P
I liked Hershel. Especially after the illness saga. Sad to see him die. And with Judith, I think I may be in the "she's still alive" camp. It'd be hard to explain her surviving with all that blood in the carrier, but I think killing her off would be too devastating to the characters of Rick and Carl, especially Rick. If she is truly dead, Rick is done for mentally.
Idk about everyone else, but I had a genuine hatred for all the Governor's army. Some could say they were just following orders, but they were too quick to believe some random stranger and follow him into the 'attempted' slaughter of unprovoked, innocent people. I'm glad they all (or most of them) died.
I'm not sure whether this is morally right, but I fist clenched when the little girls shot the Governor's (ex)GF's sister's lesbian partner (that's a long-winded description). Obviously it's not supposed to be a good thing to see kids killing people, but she deserved it. They were told there were kids inside and still went forward under the "kill everyone" order, so it was nice to see them get their comeuppance at the hands of the most innocent of people they were going to kill.
Man I can't wait for February. Screw Christmas and New Year, let's just jump in a time machine.

Christ, infinite ammo much?
Spoiler: click to toggle Great episode.
First off, I doubt Judith is really dead, someone probably got bit saving her and we'll see her with some of the other characters but Rick and Carl obviously won't find out for ages.
Poor show by Rick though would have thought he'd do better than that in the fight Gov' totally manhandled him. That was so mean with Hershel, gave us little taste of OMG HE'S GOING TO ESCAPE! No...nooooo-ho-ho-hooo...
Fairly predictable episode, didn't expect Megan to die like that though thought her and her mother would both die and Gov' would find them dead after driving the prison group away. Glad he died though, but I too was hoping those walkers would get him, he got an easy death he should have had a brutal one or been left to turn like he did with Merle. Was worried he'd come back from that stab.
Hoping we don't see much or anything of his group anymore none of them are that interesting really.
This opens it up for Carl to either become a better character or still be annoying, since he's going to have to protect Rick... The latter of which I hope becomes more of a dark character.
So Carol, in a way, did save the day.

Spoiler: click to toggle I was half expecting Carol to come back during the battle. I'm still expecting her to come back, unless it's actually officially declared that she's gone and I'm unaware. It's just too much of a loose end/'what happened to her?' scenario for them to just leave it.
And I've been one of the bigger Carl (CORL!) haters, but he's actually improved a little (or rather, been a little less annoying) so far this season.

Spoiler: click to toggle Man, you guys need to read the comics. If you think 'they wouldn't do that', you're seriously underestimating what Kirkman's willing to do.
Great episode! Sort of got spoiled, so that's why I watched it early. I felt really sad at Hershel's death, but I expected it a few weeks ago, so it wasn't too much of a shock. The Governor's death was also very satisfying, kind of glad he's gone but, at the same time, he really shone as the villain and his legacy's going to be felt for the rest of the series' running.
Judith? I half-expected it. I thought they were going to keep her alive to allow for further development with Michonne, but I suppose that'll come when she finds out that Judith's dead. I really can't thank them enough for putting this in, really shows that Kirkman's on his top game.

Spoiler: click to toggle This is roughly where I got up to in the comics, a little past this point. I actually think Judith is alive in the tv show.
1) The belt buckle on the babyseat was open. 2) The two girls sprinted in the opposite direction when Tyreese told them to leave.
I think we'll see Tyreese, the girls and Judith when the show returns, they'll start building up Tyreese from that point onwards and he'll fill the void Hershel left (in his own way).
