It was mentioned in Talking Dead that the flu that they're dealing with has no effect people who are beyond their prime. This explains why Hershel, or any of the older characters (Mid thirties and older) haven't gotten sick.

From a writing aspect, this flu is based on an actual flu that happened in the earlier part of the 1900s, where you'd get sick, and you'd literally be dead within a day or so.

I don't think Daryl should die since there's nobody to replace him right now.

I don't want this whole series to be about Rick's life falling apart, we've had enough of depressed Rick give us someone elses sadness, the show shouldn't be mostly about Rick there are other characters.
And look, the rest barely have any development so move away from Rick and definitely move away from Carl.


Would rather someone like Maggie die, Glenn and Hershel development.
I'd definitely like one of them to kill Gov', Daryl or Michonne is too obvious as awesome as it would be.

Maggie is big enough a loss for it to matter but not so big that it would spoil the show in any major way, it would turn Glenn and Hershel in to more badass characters, Hershel shined in the latest episode but imagine angry Hershel.

Without Daryl a huge chunk of their fighting ability goes down the drain there's nobody as experienced as him to help out, Tyresse is way too much of a hot head for that.

Daryl's not invincible and, to be honest, I want him to die just to show that.

If they're planning what I think they're planning, Daryl wont be a humongous loss to the group anyway.

The only loss it will be to is the fan-base, but to me, Daryl is mostly overrated anyway. He's a good character, and he's very helpful to the group's survivability, but but he's not essential to the over-all development of the group.

I agree it would be good for him to die in that it would be a big shock, but not right now, maybe end of season when other characters are more cemented in.

Because given the life expectancy who knows who's going to be alive by the end of the season, there's not really that many characters to kill that wouldn't totally break the group.

And with important characters dying left right and center...yet more secondaries will have to be brought in, and then who knows how long they'll last.


Right now there's Rick, Hershel, Carl, Maggie, Glenn, Michonne and Daryl and then less important as of yet characters, Tyresse, Sasha, Bob, Hershel's other daughter...that's it really. The rest are mostly faceless extras that I can't see suddenly becoming relevant characters.

I hate to be that guy who keeps bringing up the comics, since the show and comic are pretty different but....

The fight with the Governor did exactly what you're saying it shouldnt do. It broke the group. The group splits up. Some leaving so they didn't have to fight with the others staying. Tyreese who was Ricks right hand man, the guy everyone thought was untouchable (see Daryl) gets brutally murdered. The team that decided to stay gets overwhelmed and killed with only Rick and Carl managing to flee.

And killing off Daryl wouldn't hurt the group too much. They have Tyreese who is a tank. He is only acting stupid because his girlfriend was just killed and his sister was sick with a high chance of dying. Once all that blows over he will be a huge asset to the group. Michonne is more than formidable when it comes to combat. Rick, Carl, Glenn, Maggie, Sasha are all there.

Also I'm pretty sure they said that they will be introducing another certain major character from the comics this season. Obviously it will happen after the prison fiasco but still. That characters presence will more than fill the hole left by Daryl. (If he were to die)

I thought the beginning was kind of cheesy, but by the end I really cared about all of the characters involved (and loved the governor even more). I can't wait to see what's going to happen with this new story line. I hope the new characters get a bit more development and don't end up as fodder though. It would be nice to have some strong female characters. Michonne's been the only one for the longest time.

I mean, it's not going to end well for The Governor and what he did can't really be redeemed but that's a damn good character change.
Obviously it's like 99% because the girl is a substitute for his daughter but he does care.

I actually feel quite sorry for him now, crazy as s*** sure but must have been awful Michonne killing his daughter like that, somewhat uncalled for(in this series anyway I know in the comics he rapes her) it's quite understandable that he went so nuts.


Wasn't expecting it to switch to this whole other story, it was a cool change though.
Now I'm wondering what The Governor(or should call him Brian now?) really wants from the prison, just to destroy their livelihood, or to get Michonne?

Also was right about Woodbury being burnt down
Though how did the prison folk not notice all the smoke? Woodbury doesn't seem that far away, anyone scavenging could have noticed.
