I know it's not the best graphic ever but it's the first time I've made an attempt to use brushes. The lighting isn't ideally positioned either I don't think but I'd been working on this for a while and started getting bored. So I just left it at this. No text because I couldn't think where to put it. I still think this is another step up for me.

I think it's great that you are experimenting with brushes and the tools on gimp. I like that you tried to make it seem like he had an aura around him. You need to learn the basics of making a graphic though so I'll give you some pointers.

-Work on making the focal point stand out, but yet be similar with the background. You want to use colors from the render (bardock) like green, black, and/or red. The focal point is bardock. I'm not sure why he is blurry because he should be high quality.
-Choosing the right size, but i guess we could count this as a large piece. You should work with smaller pieces first before moving onto large pieces.
-Working on placement of the render

Those are just some things that you should start learning as you make more graphics. This is good for a beginning and I may download gimp myself to have a go at making a graphic on there. I'm glad you tried out the brushes. Just keep practicing and I'm sure you'll improve with each one.

The best way to improve is looking at tutorials and taking the advice someone gives you.
