If Old Kai released all of Gohan's potential, wouldn't he be as strong as Mystic Gohan from the Boo Saga? Potential doesn't just show up, it's always there.

Gohan had his power unlocked on Namek and he didn't come anywhere close to mystic Gohan. He had only little power up from his hidden power back in Namek. Old kai ritual unlockes full dorment powers for him so yea he would be same like Gohan in Boo saga.

Yes Old Kai's is better than everyone else's, but Guru's still brought out Gohan's full potential at the time (Not immediately though). Goku has also had his potential unlocked all the way in dragonball, yet he didn't stay that powerful forever. Potential in Dragon ball rises, it's not set from birth.

I don't know how, I just know it does otherwise Goku, Krillin and Gohan would never have got stronger again after their potential unlocks (Not counting the extra power that Gohan got via Old Kai's powerup).
