During Buu saga Elder Kai gave Goku his life so that he wouldn't be dead anymore and would be able to help fight Buu on earth. It's been said that Kai's live for tens of thousands of years. Does this mean Goku could live to be tens of thousands of years old since he was given Elder Kai's life?

I don't think so.

I think it's an exchange for an exchange. Basically, the law of equivalent exchange.

Old Kai's life was stated to have 1000 years or so left. I'm not sure ,however, if that gets dumped onto Goku.

People use this as a means to explain Goku's existence post GT after everyone has died naturally.
