Posted this in the Movies/GT section because it pertains more to here. Who do you think Vegeta was talking about when he mentioned the ''Legendary Super Saiyan?'' Who do you think the legend speaks of? Was it the LSSJ Form that Broly took on? Was it the initial SSJ form Goku took on? Or the SSJ4? (GT Perfect Files lists SSJ4 Goku as the ''Legendary Super Saiyan." I expect nothing else from Toei) |

Personally, I don't think it was Bardock or Goku. I like to think the legendary super saiyan is something genetically passed down, not capable of being reached through training unless you had the genetics. The way I look at it is like Yusuke's demon form in Yu Yu Hakusho. Yusuke had demon blood in him from Raizen 44 generations back but no one in his family was strong enough to tap into it until Yusuke tapped into it when he died the second time to Sensui. He wasn't able to tap into it the first time he died because he wasn't strong enough. This genetic trait was dormant until someone powerful enough came in the bloodline, which Yusuke eventually became through training. So the legendary super saiyan in my eyes is someone who has this power dormant within their genetics like Broly but needs to be strong enough to tap into it. So maybe the original legendary super saiyan of lore was an ancestor of Broly and no one until Broly in the blood line was powerful enough to tap into it.

That makes a bunch of sense. Theoretically, any Saiyan can get SSJ4, and SSJ, but there's no one who ever got the LSSJ form, canon or non canon. Plus, Paragus is a weakling, so it makes sense that only Broly could tap into that power. |

Vegeta in filler speaks about legendary super saiyan that couldnt control his powers, so he died along with his planet. It can be type of Brolys transformation or Golden Oozaru from Gt but nothing like SSJ Goku or SSJ4 Goku that have control over those powers, because those powers are nothing compered to Golden Oozaru or LSSJ form. |

Broly. He is THE Legendary Super Saiyan. His form is the coolest! He's bulky as hell, but doesn't loose any speed, his energy is constantly replenishing itself, and his transformation itself is epic as all hell. And look at how unique Broly is! His energy aura is greenish yellow, not pure yellow or gold. His energy attacks are all spheres or balls. And he doesn't feel pain. He's pretty unique, and that alone proves him worthy of Legend. |

I don't take in account GT, but I do think that Broly is the legendary super saiyan. I like to think of a legendary super saiyan being someone naturally gifted. Goku had to work really hard to get where he was at whereas I doubt Broly did anything serious. I'm sure he trained, but his powers came more naturally to him. If you remember they talked about how Bardock was getting stronger with every fight, and would eventually surpass king vegeta. It's why they were scared of him. I think every saiyan had a chance of reaching a super saiyan level if they did the right training. However, a legendary super saiyan would be something far beyond imagination. |

Tbh, i wish Bardock would of been a Legendery Super Saiyan when he went for his final battle, before freiza blew up Planet Vegeta. Would of been kinda cool to see some of his hair flash yellow or something

I think it was Goku. The legendary Super Saiyan... supposedly a bloodthirsty warroir who craved battle. However, I think the real legend was supposed to be that the Super Saiyan would be an unexpected power, a legendary warrior with a tranquil heart who suddenly becomes rageful. It all fits so perfectly: a pure-hearted Saiyan is sent to Earth after being born, is raised an earthling, learns of the immensely powerful being Freeza who destroyed his home planet and race, denies being the Super Saiyan, and then finally transforms in a fit of rage. He was also the first Super Saiyan in a thousand years. I'm going with Goku. |

Canonically speaking, neither GT nor the movies actually "exist", so, that would mean the original Super Saiyan form is the "Legendary Super Saiyan". However, when you factor in the movies and GT, I'm gonna have to go with Broly here, as he is explicitly referred to it multiple times, and nobody else shares the form. |

You have to take these lines in the movie with a pinch of salt. In the canon universe this freak being (Broly) didn't exist. In the fantasy universe of DBZ movies the legendary Super Saiyan was something of a boogeyman. In the canon universe, the Legendary Super Saiyan was just a Super Saiyan. The legendary tag doesn't mean that this particular SSJ is a freak like Broly. It was just the title of the SSJ. |

I don't believe there really is "a" or "the" "Super Saiyan of Legend". Super Saiyan is a legend, but it's really attainable by any Saiyan who has the aptitude. So Goku, Vegeta, Gohan, etc, are all Super Saiyans OF legend, but none of them are THE "Legendary Super Saiyan" in the sense that there can only be one. In the movies Broly is "The Legendary Super Saiyan" for various reasons. He was born with an extremely high level of power for a baby. His ultimate transformation and form are unique. And his energy replenishes. No other Super Saiyan has the ability to replenish his chi. And no other Super Saiyan transformation compares to Broly's "LSSjin". |

Well I believe ssj is the ssj witout a tail and ssj4 is one wit a tail When vegeta talks about It shows a golden great ape So its up to you Ssj goku was the 2nd to reach golden great ape but 3rd to reach ssj w/o a tail |

I think its gokus original ssj Because A.T was not planning on continueing z after freeza saga at the time when he was writing it so it all played out as goku the only ssj Then there were later forms and movie ones But i still think goku has the lss |
