i cant possibly interpret it any other way. from what i saw in the manga, gotenks was a joke, and AT used him to the fullest. Doesnt deny what he can do, but it seemed like At was looking to make a choice and then just gave himself multiple choices, and in the end STILL chose a way to make goku the hero. its possible the makers of movie 12 disagreed and thought it should have went different. |

Goku thought Gotenks would beat Fat Buu without SSj3, he didn't expect the whole Super Buu thing obviously, so he didn't plan anything for that. Also there is more proof that SSJ3 Gotenks > Super Buu, when Gotenks forms to fight Buu just before Buu absorbs him, Gohan is perfectly fine with letting Gotenks fight. |

Points for Gotenks: - Buu's mouth blast did only cosmetic damage to Gotenks. Gotenks's mouth blast mangled Buu. - Gotenks looked to have the edge during the end of the fight when he finally got serious. - Trunks stated Gohan was only "a little" stronger than Gotenks. Neither Goten nor Piccolo contradicted him. - Gohan had no trouble letting Gotenks fight Buu again. Points for Buu: - He implied only Gohan was stronger than him when he explained his absorption plan. |

This, basically. I think Gotenks had at least a 1.15x advantage over Boo when he got serious. He was really kicking Boo's ***** at the end, and it's implied through statements that he was indeed stronger. |

i didnt read them, nor could these statements be proven. buu didnt treat gotenks with respect and got pummeled, but once buu got serious he got tired of gotenks and wanted to fight gohan. Buu wasnt scared of gotenks, at all. Huge reason for that. His distraction with gohan meant he cared ALOT more about gohan stopping him than gotenks. He ate gotenks just so he could fight gohan. So lets see. trunks makes an uncontested statement next to two people One of whom wouldnt know any different from trunks. and the other who cant even fathom the power he feels from gotenks. Unfortunately for gohans trust in gotenks it got him eaten, gohans decisions are famous for being off and uneducated. Period. His statements are sometimes taken worse than vegetas. so gohan not caring if gotenks fought buu while they BOTH were there is a moot point. so is buu, knowing that gohan would kill him and wanted more power to fight him once his plan with gotenks came to fruition. So gohan has faith in gotenks because buu cant outright stomp gotenks, yet gotenks few moves didnt put any fear in Buus heart, a few punches from gohan made buu gasp for breath.... Buu doesnt breathe..... so i think the gap between gohan and gotenks is a bit bigger than you guys are letting on. Gohan = beats the crap out of buu, no questions asked Gotenks= not impressing goku until he transformed and then didnt trip when he thought him dead. buu= annoyed by gotenks and coming up with a plan to get rid of gohan. In other words? why worry about gohan when theres gotenks? Yeah, so then buu's thoughts on gotenks are minimal. Edited by Paikuan extreme, May 27 2012, 04:47 AM.

I think of Gotenks was a smarter fighter, and had Future Trunks attitude in a fight, he would have destroyed Super boo as a SSJ3. It's his lack of skill and discipline that defeated him in the end. I have him >= Super boo, but there enough to defeat him with proper knowledge. |

Then that would mean that they are equal in power, because neither has the one up on the other in a serious way. So if technique and smarts take over a power gap then its inconsequential to start with. |

Piccolo did note that Boo was becoming frustrated because Gotenks was actually putting it to him. The fight speaks for itself. Boo wasn't afraid of fighting Gotenks again because he was about to absorb him. If Gotenks was weaker than Boo, I doubt Gohan would've let him fight again. Gohan's not that stupid. |

what difference would it make if gotenks DID fight him again? none. and the beat goes on, and on. because buu already had a plan to get rid of gotenks and he did it easily. getting gohans approval was just icing. Gohans misjudgement doesnt make him stupid. Just uneducated, as stated. seeing gotenks able to handle himself doesnt mean gohan thinks buu can kill him, as if gohan would let him. so with them both standng there who is the bigger threat? not buu, as gohan has this in the bag. WHY NOT let gotenks fight him? Its called having fun while being dumb. Gotenks had no ability to finish off buu. a few moves later, buu revealed his plan for letting them think they were doing something. So it seems the butt kicking he got was just a distraction. one that would have happened for sure ifgohan hadnt been there. But..it worked anyways... didnt it? Buu ate gotenks and got what he wanted, the power to kill gohan, the ONE TRUE THREAT he had faced so far. |

Gotenks did have an ability to finish off Buu, he was going to do so right before he de-fused. Edit: Right before his SSj3 ran out, I mean. Edited by Clearin, May 27 2012, 04:49 PM.

wishful thinking, but methinks that he ran out of power and defused. He didnt have it. He wasted the fusion and the power goofing off, while AT prepares us for the return of Gohan. Buu said vegetto couldnt take him in base(in the anime), but that was never proven either. So gotenks can say what he wants, but since it took a universal spirit bomb to kill Kid buu? I would say gotenks never had what it took. In the manga vegetto automatically goes SSJ and stomps buu into the dirt. getting lucky wasnt in the cards and AT made sure of that. Gotenks didnt win because he wasnt supposed to. Claiming he is stronger doesnt satisfy that he lost either. He wasted the whole fight being a distraction, and when it seemed he was gonna be able to pull it off? he ran out of power. Something Super buu was waiting for. I believe he mentioned it.
