One thing which never gets enough attention in DragonBall as well as DragonBall Z is its original score.

Honestly speaking, I used to be one among the millions of fans believin DBZ in the Dub was the best version & how the show was supposed to be, besides mockin the Jap VA's, girlish voices, all sort of trash.

The thing which caught my attention, despite my initial impression of horrible original version's voice acting was its score. It's original, classic, & actually gives the feel of attachment, specifically durin the characters theme musics, Piccolo, Vegeta, Frieza, Cell, Boo etc.

Now, I've learnt to appreciate the show in its original way, & really think that the Dub fans need to have some decent amount of exposure to it in order to fully appreciate the score's.

My all-time favourite score's:

Goku vs Vegeta BGM, Cell's as well as Boo's BGM score's. They all have certain eerie, mysterious, yet constantly running evil theme's.

Honourable mentions: Frieza as well as Boo Saga's Genki Dama score, Majin Boo, specifically Super Boo's theme music..

Gohan killing Cell with Japanese music in background is pretty epic imo. It realy gives dramatic fealing of destroying terror.

This one also.

Gohan talking with himself in english dub is not realy good idea imo. This one realy shows him using his time to final snap. Ofc even in real life you dont snap at first moment so thats why this scene on japanese is very good.

I actually disagree with this. I think this is probably the single worst moment in terms of music choice for Japanese DBZ. The music just makes the whole thing feel anti-climatic and dull, nothing at all like we're watching the villain who has caused terror for the last 90 or so episodes get destroyed. Funi did a much better job imo.

Weirdly enough I think the exact opposite problem happened with the Gohan turning SSj2 scene, Funi's was just bland while the Japanese version is amazing.

What?! You like the japanese version better?! I couldn't tell!

Faulconer FTW. Bruce Faulconer is DBZ, man.

I agree with Follow. The Japanese score is terrible, just like the Japanese version. It has no soul, no energy, no genuineness, and is completely forgettable. The English dub with Faulconer's music, on the other hand, is full of zip and pep and life. Anybody defending the Japanese version is in denial and hates themselves for not being Japanese. Defending the Japanese version is the "rebel" thing to do.

Basically. But you are far from the worst of the culprits here. I have seen one member very obsessively defend the dreaded Japanese version for no other reason than to seem "cultured".

Basicly japanese tracks are more nostalgia thing to me. Not so much good japanese tracks but those few are special.

Its not what, but as I mentioned, you've got to genuinely allow yourself to be exposed to the Jap music, just like the version. You'd honestly feel appreciative, even more so in Boo Saga.

I feel appreciative when people do not blindly follow the Japanese version.
