Good lord, Lampard is injured now. You know what this means? JORDAN HENDERSON! He better not play or I swear we have absolutely no chance against any kind of decent midfield. How he's wormed his way in to the squad I do not know.

Also, Rooney is banned from the first two games :( So, it could be all over before he becomes involved anyway.

Who? Never heard of him.

Is he injured for a while then?

I reckon the best thing to play might be Gerrard behind the striker, with Parker and someone else behind.

How come we only play 4-4-2 though....not like we actually have much strength down the wings.

I want England to win, but I'd feel bad for Ferdinand if they did. Apparently he's never even played in the Euros before.

This is another badly structured post.

Well, whatever.

Well I don't think the English should be worried Storm. They at least have a quality player like Rooney. I see Italy and France having to be more worried about their outcomes. Most of their teams are full of old players.
Old players like Mario Balotelli and Olivier Giroud? >_> Who have a combined age of about 45? :P

Italy have a fairly old team but France have a lot of youngsters, especially the class of '87 players.

England seem to be playing Ashley Young behind the striker for the minute and putting Gerrard a little deeper. Probably a good move, Gerrard works better when making runs from midfield rather than already being up front. Still, he needs to stop trying cross field Hollywood passes. You're not Paul Scholes you fail half the time so stop it.

Parker is looking a bit ropey, I think he's playing with injections atm. The funny thing is that if Carrick had gone he'd probably a starter now with the injuries to Lampard and Barry. Also, Lescott or Jagielka should be in the side ahead of Terry imo.

Ireland are still looking good so everyone knows. Who knows, we might actually scrape out of the group if we keep defending well.

Gerrards passing was perfect until he got booed for the tackle. Carroll just couldn't control it.

Not so much in his last game (although, he did do it quite a few times) but too often he tried to hit some 30 yard pass that just ends up in empty space and goes out of play, it's such a waste. He was never that type of player so I don't know why he's trying to change that now. He's best when he's making late runs and driving the team forward, keeping his play simple. If he sticks to that then we could have something good going.

Gerard has a pretty good long pass but I also think it can be detrimental, England need to work on a slower tempo, shorter passing type game to catch up other countries.

Ashley Young is a player I really don't rate particularly highly yet seems to deliver quite well for England so I think he will have a lot of responsibility.

Chamberlain is apparently set to start tonight which is fantastic, hopefully if he plays well he'll increase his chances of playing a significant part in the tournament.

Joey Barton currently plays for Queens Park Rangers and is getting some sort of discipline from the FA for assaulting numerous Manchester City players.

Also, Danny Welbeck is looking good for the Euros. The little chip from the Belgium game is promising. Defoe did well too.

Barton has been poor this season, I went to watch QPR vs Swansea and he had a really good game then, but overall he's been disappointing, some fans have a tendency to argue that the only reason he doesn't get called up more is his attitude but at the core he's not a fantastic footballer, just a decent premier league player.

Welbeck played well, my only problem with him is that he's not a natural finisher (harsh considering 1 goal from 1 shot against Belgium was impressive) whereas Defoe is a better finisher but lacks the physicality of Welbeck (or Caroll) to hold up the ball in any meaningful way.

England will be punished if they lose the ball like they did against Belgium in the Euros, Belgium are a very good technical side but lack the offensive potent threat that many other teams will have, Dembele and Hazard are both quality talents but neither of them is a prolific forward, Dembele even plays as a midfielder now for Fulham.

My last observation is I have no idea why Glen Johnson plays for England, he's got the worst positioning of a full back, constantly caught out and has trouble tackling, for all his praise going forward his marauding runs end up with him running down blind cul de sacs rather than any meaningful contributions to attacks.
Stats from last season, up until end of February.
Micah Richards Tackles won per game = 2.2, Interceptions WPG = 1.3, Aerial dules WPG = 2.1
Kyle Walker 2.5 / 2/ 0.8
Glen Johnson 1.9 / 1.6/ 1

I saw highlights of the England vs. Belgium game. I didn't think they played that bad. They should do decent in the Euros because despite them not having the star power you may think they don't have, they still have more talent then other nations in the Euro.

What the hell happened to Portugal against Turkey? Turkey beat them for the first time and Ronaldo missed a penalty. Ronaldo tends to miss penalties when it really counts.

I really want Dembele to sign for Manchester United ;~; He's so strong and can pass a ball properly even when he's being swamped by people and an added bonus was that he's good at forcing people off a ball and fouling Steven Gerrard. He's perfect for what I think United are missing, but I digress.

Apparently Tim Cahill is out, and is being replaced by a Liverpool defender who I've never heard of.

I think you mean Gary Cahill,Tim Cahill is Australian :p

Won't really matter, the replacement most likely won't play for a minute anyway.
