Yo

Negredo is starting? He's a great link up player but I'm shocked Llorente is still being overlooked.

Going to go out to watch the game, I predict Spain 2-1.
I would like both to do well because of the members we have on here.

Doesn't seem like Negrado is touching the ball much now but its still early. Pepe on the other side is on fire. I think Portugals looking for opportunities while Spain is dominating possession a bit. Again though, its still very early.

Yea the game hasnt been pretty but ive actually been excited and anxious the wholetime . Lots of bookings though so its getting edgy and dangerous for players to make plays and challenge

I hate when Spain is on the attack because I know how easily they can score given the right opening

Uh yea...not cool. Alves clearly psyched himself out imo. It was a good match teamwise. Portugal trying to take its chances with Spain uncomfortable. I wouldn't have been happy if this didn't come down to PK shots after all that. But kinda sucks (of course im bias i was for Portugal ) both deserve to go to finals. I think it will be as everyone anticipated Spain vs Germany .

Was very enjoyable run.

Navas and Pedro were my favourite players in this game. They came on as subs and dominated during the final moments of the game. Its a shame they just didn't finish. Portugal have been fantastically impressive though, I hope their team can improve to contain some better strikers and then they might have a much more padded squad so they can compete with the likes of Spain again and not get as tired as they did towards the end.

Well that's a fair win for Spain. Portugal just didn't deliver in the end for all the tactics that they got right. If your players can't finish then tactics become irrelevant. Spain played pretty poor but Portugal couldn't capitalise on that and ended up losing on penalties. Whether it was Ronaldo's decision not to take a penalty or the coaches doesn't actually matter because Spain still had one more goal than them in the bag anyway. Even the best strikers can miss penalties. How do you know Ronaldo would have got it in? You don't. Spain were better at penalties. That's that.

I'm on my phone right now, I wanted to say: congrats Ana and all the fans of the spanish team!!
It was a really nervewracking match, but very exciting at the same time.

I was quite pleased with Portugal's performance until the extra 30 minutes. Then Spain showed what they're made of and made this victory more than fair for them. Portugal couldn't keep up with Spain during the last decisive part of the game (pre penalties), and thus the outcome of the game is unquestionable.

And now I'm officially rooting for Spain! I'll post again when I go back home tonight! BUT CONGRATULATIONS SPAIN, CONGRATS ANA BANANA (it's your time to get drunk tonight hahahah!), AND I'M STILL HELLA PROUD OF PORTUGAL! <3 We at least showed that Spain may not be as indestructible as it seems!

Good match and SPAIN FTW now!

You're wrong about the English style of soccer. When Chelsea played Barcelona, they sat everyone back and waited for the counter attack like most teams do against teams like Spain or Barcelona. They do the same thing if they score a goal in the EPL and when there are two high class teams going at it like Manchester City or Liverpool. They also have many nationalities in the EPL so different styles are adapted. W

I've been watching all the matches of the Eurocup and Italy hasn't impressed me as much as Germany or Portugal. The English team had no midfield that's why Italy was able to attack as much as they could. I don't think it's going to be the same case against Germany. If Italy is going to win, it's going to be an uphill battle. For one, the Italians just played 120 minutes of soccer with less break days than Germany. I think for argument sake that could help Italy because of the momentum, but Germany is a passing team. If Italy is tired in the game, they have no chance. The reason I say that is how do you think the game with Spain and Italy would have gone if we had put a striker in? I think Torres, with his pace, would have overwhelmed the back three leaving more space open for players like Iniesta, Xavi, and David Silva. The same goes with Germany. They have a striker named Gomez and a midfield that can contain Pirlo, who by the way has been your best player. As good as Buffon is, Gomez doesn't miss. The Germans have so many ways they can attack the Italians.

I did watch the Italy game against England which is why I'm saying it's not going to be the same way against Germany. England has a great offense, a great defense, but they are lacking a midfielder who can keep the ball and pass it like Pirlo, Khedira, or Xabi Alonso, which is why they did bad against Italy. They were exhausted towards the end of the match because every time they got possession of the ball they gave it away due to the fact that they do not have a great midfield.

Spain has never done well historically against Italy so that can play a role into why Italy did so well against them. I mean you can say what you want about the past is past, but those demons are always there. I was even surprised that Spain was able to beat France and leave all those terrible years of Henry grabbing his face behind. If that is the case against Germany, that may also help the Italians. However, as far as pure talent goes, Germany should and I feel will win against Italy.

Either way, I'm worried about the game tomorrow and I'm stressing. It will not be an easy match against Portugal that is for sure. I'm really glad this competition only comes once every four years because I get nervous about these things.
Well you're right about that. If Italy didn't impress you that much you do admit they impressed a little right? :p Anyways yeah congratulations to you. If Germany wins I hope you beat Germany, but if Italy wins tomorow... Spain is going down on Sunday. ''But Doc what if we don't succeed in beating Spain!?'' ''WE MUST SUCCEED'' I hope Italy wins. I know you were very nervous today, but if it makes you feel better I'll be just as nervous tomorow. I'll only start watching after the second half. Sunday I have it off but even if I worked Sunday I'd skip work to watch the finals, IF my team would make it.

Haha I can imagine that. Being on the otherside I was listening to most of it later on while studying and I wanted to toss something.

Aww Kris <3. I'm sorry both our teams couldn't win. It came down to a penalty shoot out and those are always luck.

I have to say that the Portugal and Spain game was very nerve wracking. Spain was not playing with energy and they did not play well at all. It could be because Portugal got 2 more days to prepare, but they played a great match. I give a lot of props to Portugal because they came out with a great tactical plan that almost worked in their favor.

In the over time, Spain finally broke out of its shell and started to attack more. They were getting more chances. I think by this time the Portuguese defense was tired. Navas and Pedro bring a dynamic that Villa brought when he was on the team so I think it would be foolish not to start them in the next match. They were starting to look much better on the attack. The tactic with Negredo just didn't work for Spain in the beginning and I think Del Bosque will do a much better selection for the final.

Portugal has a great team. They just need to get their chances in when they have them. They are smart tactically. If they can develop a good center striker and some more midfielders, I see them winning a World Cup in the near future.

I'm not sure why they didn't let Ronaldo take a penalty kick. I know they were saving their best player for last, but I feel the best players should go first so that other people don't feel as much pressure.

Anyway, good luck tomorrow against Germany.
