Possible. Spain did not perform great against their opponent and Greece beat Russia. So I wouldn't put it past Ukraine to scratch a win judging by how the tournament's been so far. I do hope England win though. They actually have a good team and manager this time. |

Well Italy won't get to play England this year because if England win the game tonight then they will likely have to play Spain in the quarter final. Now lets be realistic, there is no way in heck that England can beat Spain. England won, France lost. That means England WILL play Italy contarary to my previous statement. I can't see France beating Spain if they can't even beat Sweden. I'm not gonna even guess at the result of the Italy game because England tends to be unpredictable when it comes to how the players perform. Notable performances from England's game include John Terry, Steven Gerrard and of course the goal scorer Wayne Rooney. Edited by Pelador, Jun 19 2012, 08:44 PM.

He was speaking spanish actually. Basically he was correcting the interviewer who mispronounced Fabio Coentrao's name. |

England did well today, but that ball definitely crossed the line. It must be a devastating blow to Ukraine. I mean that goal could have changed the impact of the game. This is why we need goal line technology so things like this don't happen. |

Well actually there's a theory that the guy putting it in was offside. So it shouldn't have counted anyway. Still, the referee's assistants this tournament have been pretty awful. Offside is really easy to spot with a camera. All they have to do is speak to somebody in front of a computer for 5 seconds and they can get a perfect decision. Doesn't change the pace of the game at all. Do they do that? Do they *****. |

He was reasonably far offside when the ball was played to him yes. I heard that Spain have a bad record against France. Still, hard to see how Spain won't beat them. England and Italy could go either way, they both play very defensively. Italy only scored 1 against Faroe Islands, kinda sums it up. I don't know what I'd say if I wasn't an England supporter, I don't want to think about it really-rather just hope they can pull it off again like they did against Sweden and Ukraine. I think the English media is too harsh against England this time, whereas normally they overrate them too much. I think I prefer that they're underrated really though. I feel like the old team thought it was acceptable to not play as well as they could have done since they were already recognised as being great or even "world class" players regardless. |

Wow, just wow. For once that I'm not over hyping Italy they pulled off a win, and made it through. I had some harsh memories from Euro 2004. lol I liked how for once Italy was playing a more attack oriented game, and even after scoring one goal, they continued to keep pushing for another goal. Instead of slowing down their tempo and bringing men back. between the 70th and 85th minute Ireland was getting more and more chances, and the game ended up in Italy's zone for most of the time. Italy's coach made a good call when he substituted forwards Cassano and Di Natale for strikers Diamante and Balotelli in the second half. Italy got some fresh legs on the field and once they got going, they had some good runs and chances into 'Irish country', eventually Ballotelli scored the insurance second goal of the game in the 90th. Was that goal luck or talent.

Even if the guy was offsides in the English game, they should still have goal line technology. Do you remember that goal that England scored on Germany and it didn't count? I mean things like that are devastating. Futbol needs to catch up to the times. @Light Spain always does bad against France, which is why I'm concerned. I have terrible memories playing against France especially when Henry grabbed his face in the 2006 world cup. We just don't do well against France/Italy for some reason or another. Maybe it's how they play. People say that Spain hasn't been playing to the best of their ability. It is true, but what are they supposed to do? The teams they play put 11 people on defense. It's hard to break though that and all they can do is tire the opposition out in order to strike. Spain play a possessive/offensive type of game. It's how they have always played and sometimes it pays off while other times it can hurt them. If the other team makes their counter attack count, it's really hard to recover from that. Spain need to play with more energy though and I have seen it. Sweden is not a joke of a team. They made England somewhat nervous in the back. I'm not counting France out even though they lost. Italy and England game is going to be interesting. Both of them play defensively. It's going to come down to who has the better counter attack and who makes their chances count. I think Italy attacked more against Ireland because Ireland isn't that strong of a team. I don't think they will do the same against England. Edited by Pookie, Jun 20 2012, 12:52 AM.

Rooney ![]() I hope we can at least get past Italy, I want to see an England team get to a semi - final at least once. I honestly think that if the team accepts that we aren't as good technically as other teams and that our strength is in keeping our shapes and playing our way then England could possibly make the final. We can beat anyone on our day (but we can also lose to anyone on another). |

Portugal and Spain. They seem to be the best teams in the tournament. But it could be an upset and have like Greece or the Czechs in the finals. Can never tell. |
