Should They Take Out "Under God" From The Pledge?

I'm going to be a close minded person and say I would want them to not only keep the allegiance, but the "Under God" in there. I'm not patriotic, but a pledge is respectful. And me keeping "Under God" is just because im christian. I mean, its more fair to take it away, yes. But I'm proud to say I like it in there.
I mean, SHOULD they take it out? It'd make more sense.
But would I like it? No. But eh, it doesn't matter too much.

Honestly I don't think they should take it out...and leave the pledge of allegance.

Seperation of Church and State means my preacher doesn't also run the city, it's meant that the Church doesn't rule the state or the other way around..not idle mentions...

the pledge of allegance is a manner of respect.

Yes, I'm a Christian, and that is a good portion of the reason I don't want them to remove the God References.... but part of it is because if it doesn't stop now, where will it?

Not yet. This nation is still a bit too closed minded to handle such a huge change. And I know a lot of atheists who don't give it much thought and just say it without thinking. A lot of atheists (that I know of) just don't care.

I don't really care either way. It's been there since the late 50's and now we just want to remove it? It's not a concerning issue for the government and I actually believe most people don't care.

However If I am to give an opinion the matter other than "I don't care" it would be that it ought be removed. Not only for fairness and all but I think the all trust in God is is bit naive and childish. I can't think that a nation as big and powerful as U.S.A needs to have trust in a entity which has yet to be conclusively proven as fact. I'm also not to keen on the the whole Latin phrases on the currency. The bit about a new world order can also be argued against. In the end I don't feel too passionate about what is or isn't on a dollar bill. So as long as it isn't offensive and isn't declaring loyalty to Nazism I don't mind or care.

The Pledge of Allegiance seems pretty pointless, and this is coming from someone that's quite patriotic. It made sense back during the Cold War when everyone was *****ting their pants over communists and people being "one of them", but what's the point of it now? I don't really think there's anything inherently wrong with it, though, so I say keep it for posterity. I have no problem saying it, either.

As far as the whole "Under God" thing, I think it should be taken out, but it's not something you'll see taken our for a long time, if ever.

Hell, we're a country of hypocrites, just look at the whole g ay marriage debate. People whine and cry over the "sanctity of marriage" while the divorce rate of "straight" couples is out of this world. You really think the bible thumpers would "stand" for their precious "Under God" being taken out of the pledge?

It'd cause a lot more problems than it'd solve right now, so I think if anyone ever tries to remove it, it should be far into the future where people are a little more open minded.

the simple answer is: YES.

there is no need to say why. we all see the wrongs of this nation. but a lot of these wrongs are dark & evil. they misuse this.

That's some pretty generalizing stuff. I'm not sure how connecting divorce rates between heterosexual marriages and religion equals hypocrisy. Granted the reason there is such debate over gay marriage is out of ignorance and tradition, but assuming that divorce rates somehow prove hypocrisy is just as ignorant.
