Is 18 alive after GT ends?

#18's eternal energy generator may give her immortality, but it doesn't mean the device itself will last forever.

If it were to fail, it would be the end of her as well. Personally, I'd find that likely to happen. No machine is perfect.

It takes a mere second for treasure to turn to trash.

I was tempted to say that she was dead and aged naturally, but, I remember at the end of Z Android 17 is seen donating energy to the genki dama and the only way he looks at all different whatsoever is his clothing. After several years he and 18 looked the same.

It is possible the cyborgification merely slowed their aging, but, canonically speaking there is no evidence to support this. All we know is they looked no older at the end of Z vs. when they were first introduced. In GT, 18 did if I recall correctly but GT is not canon. Really, it can be multiple different things: aging of the Androids was artificially slowed similar to the Saiyans' slow aging but 18 died - eventually, she indeed killed herself, or a plothole. Given GT's history, a plothole isn't unlikely at all.

However on the "18 trains one hundred years and a movie is made and she would be so much stronger" note, the Androids have a static, unlimited level of strength. She could never get stronger. And they never really, 18 included, seemed like ones to train anyway.

When the androids 17/18 are first released in Android saga they questioned Gero becoming an android and he says *quote*: Yes I to now have eternal life. So maybe she doesn't die?
Future Gohan : There is no end to me even if you manage to destroy this body someone even stronger will surface and take my place! No one death will go uncountable NOT ONE!

Yeah, I do think 18 stays alive. I mean even Android 8, which was 1st shown in early DragonBall still survives up until Kid Boo's defeat, I think 18 could. It could do somethin with the machine or something, but anyway, I think I've answered the topic.

I may be wrong, but I don't remember that idea ever being conclusive on the series.
It's stated that they had an unlimited level of strength, but I don't think it was ever confirmed that the androids couldn't get stronger through regular training. My own opinion is that they could get stronger as far as the human part of their bodies allowed them.

I think if she kept training she could have gotten significantly stronger, but eventually she'd reach her limits like Krillien and Tien did.

im in the opinion she should still be alive. GT aged her just because.

Funny since tien and chiaotzu still look the same.

she is a cyborg, and her main power supply is never exhausting. She should still be alive, easy.

her organic parts were enhanced to take all kinds of damage, if she were just normal she wouldnt be able to take the punishment she did.

aging is out, gero main case for becoming an android and preserving his brain was to be virtually immortal.

There still really isnt any proof the brain cant live on for an extended period of time in the right environment.

The fact he was able to do it at all with just himself and a couple machines shows how smart he really was.

Well I don't remember Pan ever saying anything about 18 being alive but in theory yeah she should be as stated by everybody else she's a android designed to be eternal and powerful. So that strikes the question why wasn't she there when we saw the old pan?
