Actually the answer here is yes, she should be alive by the end of GT.
It is explained in the manga that the Androids are immortal. They don't get old nor sick/injured --they could get "injured" but they wouldn't be able to feel pain, so it's like there was no injury really.

The only way for 18 and 17 to die is by having somebody blow them up. Otherwise they won't die.

And assuming that 18 didn't blow up, she definitely was still alive and looking exactly as young as before.
Except she cut her hair

I guess Toriyama wanted to make her look older even though she's immortal. And that hair doesn't grow back either, if I'm right.
Terrible decision that of cutting her hair., right?! :|
She looked so much better before.

haha saying that she killed herself after Krillin and her daughter died is a bit of a stretch.
I mean, not that it isn't possible, because she did end up getting very attached to her family... but it's just one of those things that will forever be a mere speculation.

One thing's for sure... when Pan made that comment on GT... I doubt the creators of GT were thinking it through to make an accurate statement, they most likely just forgot about 18's immortality. GT is full of mistakes anyway, so this is just another minor one.
Yeah, she looked waaaaay better before. I guess Toriyama just wanted to put more emphasis on the fact that it's 10 years after the Buu Saga, or something.

And yeah, GT in it's entirety is full of little (or big depending on how you look at it) plotholes, and inconsistencies. I guess this is just another one, unless Pan never met Android 18, which would be weird because they were all at the tournament together. They were never close, I guess. Maybe that's it.

Pan definitely met Android 18. It wouldn't make sense otherwise.

So yep, it's a plothole. Case closed!

Always a pleasure doing judicial work with you, guys! hahaha :p

Seriously, a list of GT plotholes needs to be compiled. Legit plotholes though.

She has a point.

GT was a plot-hole galore. I doubt GT creators would've put that much effort into such minor details, considerin they failed even on most major aspects...

Yeah #18 should def still be alive. Just think about how strong she will be if she had trained for 100 years straight!!! I wonder how strong she would get. That could be another idea for a movie Pan meeting up with Android 18 after all these years

Pan and 18 knew one another. She is in the picture Pan carries in her booksack. 18, Marron, Krillin, Roshi, Yamcha, Vegeta, Trunks, Goten, Bulma, Bulla, Piccolo, Gohan, Videl, Chi Chi, Hercule, Buu, Goku and her as a baby. (Tien and clwon mus be awol again) It was what reminded Goku of who he was and who he loved to turn ssj4 from the great ape state.

Marron and Bulla are also Pans friends.

I mean realistically there are three explanation for 18 not being there.
- Everyone died and she killed herself
- She died naturally as she was a human with cybernetics and not full machine
- she lived on and they never got in touch as 18 has no ki to ever be sensed anyhow

That would be so cool!
I'm such an Android 18 fangirl! I'd love to see a new movie with the androids, they had so much potential and I feel like their background was never fully explored.

This is my favorite theory so far. The twins are undeniably awesome together anyway! <3

If we're following stupid GT logic, wouldn't 17 be dead?

I haven't watched GT in a LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG time (hopefully the amount of O in that word was expressive enough haha), but I had the feeling 17 was revived by the end of the series?

Its plausible she just wished herself to be with the other because it got to the point that she was satisfied with her life on Earth

It doesn't make sense to me. They can't have eternal life if organic pieces age. And she looked older in GT, but it's GT.

It's stated they are immortal but it's not possible unless the cybernetics rejuvenate their organic parts.

I suppose it's possible that they do- they have unlimited energy, and Gero's brain, in his "immortal" body, was organic, so presumably his modifications are capable of some kind of extreme preservation or regeneration.

Apart from chalking it up to another GT plothole, the other possibility is that Pan simply hasn't seen 18 for a while. She's fallen out of contact with the Briefs family, and groups of friends do move away over time. So even if 18 was still going, as far as Pan was concerned, everyone was gone. That or something unfortunate happened to 18 somewhere along the line.

As for 17, he could be back- Cell absorbed him and still the dragon brought him back.
