Ranking the Naruto Openings; This is what boredom does....

Alright, so I'm ranking (almost) all the Naruto openings from my favourite to least favourite (except the filler saga openings because I haven't seen them).

1. Shippuden Opening 6 - Sign

I get goosebumps from this opening. I love the song, all the little action scenes and I just think that everything fits (with the only complaint is that there's some spoilers in it. Not too bad for me though, I'd already read the manga by the time I'd seen it ;) )


2. Shippuden Opening 8 - Diver

The symbolism in this opening is brilliant! Naruto sinking to the bottom of the ocean, getting darker as he falls further. Sasuke looking like he's come to help, before hitting him with a Chidori. He's helped up by his friends and gets out of the darkness, only to realise that Sasuke has been left there, abandoned by everyone else. I also really like the song.

3. Naruto Opening 1 - R.O.C.K.S

Is it some kind of nostalgia? I'm not sure, but I really like the first opening. It's all so laid back and reminds of the simpler time that was Part 1.

4. Shippuden Opening 7 - Tōmei datta Sekai

There's so many battles in this opening that should have happened but didn't. Sakura, Hinata and Ino vs Konan? Team Gai vs Deva Path? Gamabunta vs Pain's Rhino Summon? They woud have been so awesome. Also, it was another good song.

5. Shippuden Opening 9 - Lovers

It's fast paced and has a lot of action in there. Introduces us to the Kages and illustrates Sasuke's fall quite nicely.

6. Naruto Opening 5 - Youth's Rapsody

Opening for the Sasuke Retrieval Arc. Possibly has my favourite song in there and has some good symbolism thrown in as well (such as Sasuke picking up his headband while picturing Team 7, before dropping it when he thinks of Orochimaru and Itachi). I also like how it adapts as the Arc progresses, as new characters are introduced into the action (eventually showing Kimmimaro and the Sand Siblings).

7. Shippuden Opening 1 - Hero's Come Back

Perfect way to get pumped for Shippuden. Japanese rapping = win

8. Naruto Openings 2-4

I grouped them together as I like them all equally. Their not too spectacular but they do their job.

9. Shippuden Opening 4 - Closer

Some more nice action and a decent song. Shows that the arc focuses on Shikamaru and has some nice imagery.

10. Shippuden Opening 3 - Blue Bird/ Shippuden Opening 10 - Newsong

For 3: Not that great but not too terrible. I can stand it, which is more than I can say for the one's below this. For 10: It has some cheesy moments that I don't like (skipping down a beach..) but some of it's pretty funny. I'm not a fan of the actual song but that three handed sign jutsu is good.

11. Shippuden Opening 11 - Assault Rock (current opening)

Awful, just so awful. This is a war, they should act like it. It's just way too upbeat about everything and the song sucks so badly.

12. Shippuden Opening 2 - Distance

"You are my fwend!" Urghh, how terrible, it's definitely the worst song for an opening. There's way too much English thrown in there and I'm not a fan of mixing languages too much in the openings.

12. Shippuden Opening 5 - Glow of a Firefly

Just everything about it. It doesn't even deserve an explanation I just really don't like it.

I tend to like the original Naruto openings better than the ones in Shippuden, but I will admit that I love Diver because of the symbolism. ^_^

 10 is hands down my favorite.. there's a few other shippuden openings i like too.

Greetings. I will be your waifu this season.

 Not sure about the actual openings but the songs in Naruto are mostly better I'd say.

R.O.C.K.S. is just fantastic opening for that is good too sets the tone for the series really well.
Youth's Rapsody is one of my favourites...possibly because I've watched that arc so much lol.

Only one from Shippuden that really sticks with me is the Invasion of Pain arc one it was pretty good but not as good as some of the Naruto one's.



Do any of you actually learn the meaning of these songs? I feel it kinda ruins them knowng what they're saying(not counting the random english) not sure why :o_O:
