I put my money on Gotenks. His power was never questioned against Boo's, yet Gohan's was. |

goku had questions for both of them, and piccolo questioned gotenks all the way until he thought gotenks SSJ fused potential could be brought forth through the rosat. He never questioned goku either. In both of them i believe goku was looking for that X factor, and didnt find it in either one of them. Goten and trunks are a HUGE risk, and thats from gokus own mouth. But he HAD to put his faith in the boys othewise they would doubt themselves. Without the talking to given to them by goku, the boys never would have even reached the levels they did. All fire and no direction. |

Show me where Goku and Piccolo questioned Gotenks. I don't see it. Piccolo only questioned SSjin Gotenks' speed, never his power. Goku outright questioned if Gohan would be enough to beat Boo, while he stated Gotenks would "definitely" be able to do it with no RoSaT training or anything. |

Pretty much what everyone else is saying SSjin Gotenks was definitely taking on Fat Boo according to Goku. Goku wondered if SSjin 2 Gohan could beat Fat Boo. SSjin Gotenks should win. |

youre banking to much on what goku DIDNT know, and trying to say that his own thoughts arent enough? what about his actions? he left specific instructions to train those boys and perfect that fusion. He never even thought of the idea himself, piccolo did. its a last ditch effort but goku ALREADY had fusion in mind. He told piccolo it was a huge gamble and then waited for trunks to return with the dragon radar. I believe i put the scan up in my previous topic about the strength of majin buu. Goku was gone when gotenks even fused right the first time, and piccolo even then thought he could possibly take fat buu, wham gotenks gets whooped and piccolo retracts that by cussing gotenks out and telling him he needs to train more on top of learning fusion. Goku in the afterlife is watching from the globe, the only time he even took note of gotenks being strong enough was when He transformed out of the rosat. Goku did question gohans power, but he just questioned whether it was enough ot destroy fat buu not fight him. but knowing he was going to put them in the rosat is what makes this part of the plan so doable. No reason to believe they werent that close in strength level, at all, especially considering gohans true power limit, and his resulting ultimate power up. perfect fusion first have ability to acquire power. gokus NUMBER ONE plan. He expected gotenks as a fusion character to get stronger than him, but saying he had no plans on training him is stretching it wayyyyy to far. Edited by Paikuan extreme, Apr 21 2012, 12:23 AM.

If he perfects the technique he’s trying now, he definitely ain’t gonna lose.” Chapter: 479 (DBZ 285), P5.2-4 Context: when the Z Sword breaks, after Gohan trained with it for a day Gohan: “But…thanks to that, my arm strength has increased a lot. That Z Sword was incredibly heavy, after all…Perhaps this was what they meant by me obtaining the greatest power in the world.” Kaioshin: “I-I get it…If he’s acquired that much power in his regular state, then if he becomes a Super Saiyan it will become an even more substantial power-up…! Ye-yeah! That’s it! That’s definitely the greatest power in the world…!” Goku: “…But…Is he greater than Majin Boo?...I wonder…” According to Goku: SSj Gotenks is stronger than Buu no matter what. SSj2 Gohan is maybe stronger than Buu. I'm gonna say SSj Gotenks wins here. |

really? so this had nothing to do with goku reassuring chi chi goten WONT die like everyone is saying he would? ok then. im pretty sure goku KNEW the fusion was going to be greater than him, you didnt ask goku, you made my point for me. goku questioned whether or not gohan could KILL buu, not fight him. gotenks was SUPPOSED to be able to kill buu as a fusion character, but WOULDNt have without the training. so are you trying to say that goku had NO intention on training them? cause thats not what he said. at all. training them and getting them as much time in the rosat as they needed was the plan from the jump, why else do you think goku bought time from majin buu? cmon guys the WHOLE story goes together, not just bits and pieces to satisfy an argument. Gokus plan was fusion, fusion is the ONLy thing that could have beat buu at that time without gokus SSJ3. it was the whole point in the first place as goku DIDNt have the power to sustain the ofrm, let alone use full strength. it was the PLAN!! a plan gotenks wasnt a part of until he considered it, and figured that fusion itself should be an apt power provider. gohans power was singular, and goku asked if gohan is GREATER than buus, as an individual, not if he could fight him at ALL. your posted script says as much. fusion power= needed power to defeat buu gohan= being able to do it on his own, making gotenks obsolete as an idea. Which ended up being more true than first realized. lets not forget goku took a huge risk, and said as much. using the kids was a huge risk, but goku himself NEEDED someone of equal power he could fuse with. the kids didnt fit that description. so when goku goes to gohan and realizes he is still alive? then he sees that his ssj2 form is almosty on par with his ssj3. goku questioned himself, when piccolo didnt, dont you think goku would know? like stated, he didnt think gotenks could beat buu until he came out of the rosat and then transformed into ssj gotenks. But we now know its because gotenks had SSj3 hidden away. Goku could sense his true power. Goku himself knew training was necessary, if not for the potarra rival fusion him and vegeta shared? Gogeta without training would have had a VERY hard time fighting buuhan. no denying this. so perfecting fusion is all about getting the necessary power and getting the transformation RIGHT, so you can achieve that goal. if you think goku didnt have training in mind i think you are mistaken.  yup, and theres NO other reason for it. if ssj2 cant take pre rosat gotenks then how is he supposed to be able to fight buu? fused ssj gotenks had to be at peak power in order to pull this off. piccolo didnt have a clue, he never questioned goku or his power to beat buu, yet goku out right said he didnt have a chance against buu. meaning that gohan is at least as strong or stronger than him in intial SSJ3. whats that about? no reason why huh? just because you guys say so? despite the comic saying otherwise? with no proof at all gotenks is a strong as you purport, and despite the initial doubts, because it fits you just run with gotenks despite gohans power? Gotenks power at fat buu was questioned by goku, its the whole reason for wanting them to train after seeing how much power the super saiyan fusion brought, as opposed to the normal fusion. say what you want but it doesnt change what happened. Goku implied gotenks needed to be at max power, in order to pull this off. and your telling me he DIDNt wasnt them to train? lots of questions not being answered as someone own words have been taken out of context to fit your argument. Its not possible for gotenks to be stronger than gohan pre rosat. if anything they would be the exact same level. Both SSJ3 tier, and denying that is just lying to yourselves. Comparing gohan to buu IS comparing gohan to gotenks, who at full power is SAID to be able to take buu. So why not just WRITE gohan off as useless like everyone else if he CANT? EVERYONE thought gotenks could take buu in base form. They were wrong. Gotenks never got a chance to prove his strength, and yet gohan got a zenkai AND was training with the sword. Where did you THINK his strength level would be? He's at LEAST as strong as goku at full power. yes meaning At kid buu full power. do you guys honestly think this means that gohan doesnt COMPARE to majin buu? it reads to me just the opposite, in fact he asked if it was GREATER than majin buu, for a for sure win. goku showed doubt about gotenks when he thought gotenks died along with buu, when their energy signatures disappeared into the rosat. he only showed POST gotenks any respect towards buu, as he knew buu had changed. it makes no sense, to have gotenks stomping gohan when they are in the same range of power, and thats said by everyone. majority DOESNT rule here unfortunately for you guys, the truth does, and the truth is that gohan and gotenks at maximum are the same tier of strength. Goku wouldnt have even considered gohan if gotenks could beat him without training, yet all i read is used bit parts taken out of context and wishful thinking. if its just to disagree with me, then fine, but it doesnt change it.
