I recommend you guys watch it if you haven't already. Or read the manga because I hear that's better. It's pretty good and gets better as you progress and unlike DBZ the fights are fast paced.

The story follows a teenage girl named Lucy Heartfilla who is determined to join the notorious magical Fairy Tail Guild. During a daring rescue, she encounters Natsu who is part of the guild and eventually offers her a place. They become teammates performing various missions for the Fairy Tail Guild. Be prepared for an action-packed adventure!

Funimation currently only has the first season.

Watch the show on Hulu http://www.hulu.com/fairy-tail
48 Subbed 4 Dubbed

Or if you're caught up with the new episodes you can watch it on Crunchyroll.

I think you can get it on funimations' youtube channel as well (or the first 30 or so episodes at least). Just in case anyone has problems with the other two websites, or if you want to get a feel for it before paying for crunchyroll or anything like that.

Crunchyroll is free  You only pay to receive the anime as it comes out rather than having to wait a week later.

This is one of those series which is on my queue :)

MAGICAL GIRLS REPRESENT

I'm interested, but I assume as it's shonen it's the same kind of adventuring/journeying/fighting as every other shonen series with some kind of slightly interesting twist to attract people to it. What's it this time?

Life is a performance, and the world is full of critics. Give it your all like it's your last show.

As DBZ is martial artists, Naruto is ninjas and One Piece is pirates, Fairy Tail is wizards, or mages, whichever you prefer.

Though it can get quite repetitive, and the characters arn't very deep, it has some good humour, is well drawn and the fight scenes are great. The show revolves around the wizard guild "Fairy Tail", which is one of the better things about the show. The guild atmosphere is nice, and all the side characters in the guild get plenty of screen time.

The whole theme of the world and the people in it is probably what I like about the show. It's weak points are plot and overly repetitive dialogue. As long as you don't try to take it seriously it's an enjoyable experience.

Yeah Fairy Tail isn't the may not have the most deep characters or story but it's enjoyable.
The fast paced fights are one reason why I like the show.

I think the characters are a little deeper than they are given credit for. I think it was said that everyone in Fairy Tail has a tragic past and when you find out about it, you see how it shapes the way that they act like certain mannerisms and stuff.

The plot is fairly weak, even when compared to other shonen series. However, later on in the series things come together a little more and the plot becomes a little deeper. But overall theres a pretty laid back feel to it and the fights don't drag on too long and there's a good deal of. Comedy. Oh yeah and the fan service isn't bad either ;)

It's probably too short a series to know how deep the character development is.

Fairy Tail is quite funny that's probably the main thing drawing me in so far. I don't feel like I'm fully into the story yet as of chapter 40, but then again I don't know maybe what I'm reading now becomes important later on. It's still a young manga.

Chapter 40? You still haven't reached the good stuff.
