I'll start it off with my top 5 Hayao Miyazaki films. 1. Princess Mononoke Without a doubt, his best film overall. One of the few, besides The Castle of Cagliostro and Porco Rosso, to have a central, male protagonist, even with it's name. It's one of Miyazaki's few PG-13 movies, and it really stands out thanks to that. It's the most enjoyable, and has some of the best voice actors you could bring together, such as Billy Crudup, Gillian Anderson (of X Files fame), Billy Bob Thorton, Jada Pinket Smith, the great John DiMaggio (Bender), and Claire Danes. 2. Howl's Moving Castle I love this film, and it always manages to bring a smile to my face. I mean, Billy Crystal and Batman himself, Christian Bale are in it! HE EVEN USES HIS BATMAN VOICE! I swear to god!SWEARTOME!!!!! He is awesome in it. And let's not forget Chrispan Freeman as the Prince/Turnip head. 3. Nasuca of the Valley of the Wind. Awesome movie. I haven't seen it enough to really give it a good review or anything, but it is a really good movie, with a damn good message. And the fact that Patrick Stewart and Shia LEBOOOOOOUF lend their voices to the cast is pretty cool too. I think Mark Hamil even has a very small role. 4. Spirited Away. The second Miyazaki film I saw and bought after Mononoke. Was a bit of a change, being very PGish and all. But I still love it. 5. Kiki's Delivery Service. ![]() Phil Hartman. That is all. NOW WHAT ARE YOUR 5 FAVORITE MIYAZAKI FILMS? Edited by FollowtheLeader, Apr 5 2012, 01:00 AM.

I like Totoro, Princess Mononoke and Howl's Moving Castle. Totoro and Princess Mononoke were part of my childhood, watched it with my two brothers when we were little. We always pretended we were each 1 of the totoros, my oldest brother pretending to be the big huge one who slept in the forest and me and my other brother were the blue and white one that would gather acorns. |
