I think abuse in any form is one of the worst things a person can live though, and I'm actually going to law school in order to become a divorce attorney specializing in child advocacy. However, since this is about animals, I'll stick to them. :)

Alright. So animal abuse is actually one of the earliest indicators of the psychopathic personality trait. If a kid gets his or her jollies from pulling wings off of butterflies as a kid, WATCH THEM. Sometimes, they don't understand the frailty of life. Other times though, this will escalate into hurting kittens, dogs, etc. Why?

To be honest, there are a whole host of reasons. It's very possible that the child is angry and hurting makes them feel better. Perhaps due to some circumstances, they feel powerless and need to exert dominance over something weaker. Or maybe it's fun. Either way, something is wrong.

I think that instead of just punishing adult offenders, permanent records should be made of children abusing animals. Sometimes the parents are in denial about what there kid is doing, but a whole rap sheet doesn't lie. If caught early enough, I bet the kid could be helped. But so many times when people are penalized for animal abuse, it's when they're adults. The damage is done by then,.
I couldn't agree more with you. Not enough people pay attention to the early warning signs.

Then again, I used to be an animal abuser when I was a little child, as hard as that is for me to admit. I don't have any plans on becoming a murderer anytime soon. Still, I agree.

It's not always the case though. I'll admit I went through a phase where I used to treat my cats badly and tried to ruin the frog spawn down at the local pond. I just grew out of it and now I feel guilty. I think most people develop a sense empathy towards animals at some point.

Like I said, I think a lot of kids just don't understand life. But there's a big difference between ruining dog spawn and putting a cat on the grill, you know? Parents need to just be smart; if their kid does something like that, remember it.

Oh, jeez, that's terrible. I never went that far.

I think I'd be slightly afraid of how my child would turn out as an adult if he did something like that.

You are calm and reposed, let your beauty unfold

I remember a similar topic to this last year (maybe earlir) where I went mental at someone lol, can't remember the details though...

In my eyes, an animal is a defenceless creature in much the same way as an infant is, and thus need the same level of protection from the cruelty of the scum who would harm them as a child. I don't know how to do this; f I knew how to solve animal abuse then I wouldn't be on my laptop, I would be proposing a bill or something. I just know that I feel very strongly on this subject and that in my personal experiences of seeing a person treat animals badly, I have at the least said very harsh words to them on the spot and compelled them to stop. This is the bare minimum a person should do.

I detest whaling, and the seal culls in Canada, and any other purposeful slaughterings of wild, endangered animals. I personally would rather each whaler was unemployed and homeless for the rest of their life than their ships set sail one more time to perform an act that 98.5% of the world is directly against.

I think that there should be very strong laws against this. What are your views on animal abuse?

Many kids (especially teenage boys) my age think it's funny to hurt an animal or joke around about hurting/killng them. I don't find any of it funny in the slightest. Whether it's a dog or a squirrel, I'm completely against abuse in any way, shape, or form. Animals are a big part of this world and every human should respect them. They have just as much a right to live on this planet as we do.

I never once hurt animals like that tbh. I think I've had empathy towards them since birth.
Animal abuse is something that I am passionate about halting. I am a big animal lover. Just the thought of an animal getting hurt makes me angry. I agree wholeheartedly.

I like animals a lot more than humans. Their behaviour is completely dependant on us. If we're kind to a dog, it'll learn that humans are nice and kind. If we abuse a dog, it'll think that humans are dangerous and will attack them. That's why I hate it when a dog who attacks someone is put down. Not because they shouldn't be, but because it was never their fault. Animals are like infants, they're innocent and defenseless. To abuse an animal, you'd have to be heartless or, at the very least, very deranged. A lot of people abuse their animals to vent their anger, I find it utterly disgusting.
