They are part human, so I don't see why they could train their ki. They'd have a long way to go; they probably have as much ki as a normal human (or less) which is probably why they are untraceable.

Id say yes, only because they are part human. But Android 16 could not train. |

That's a good question. I think so, but maybe have slower gains since they're part machine. On the other hand they'd never tire out and could train as long as they need to. |

Its funny that question was brought up. I was actually thinking about that yesterday while i was rewatching the android saga. I think they cant get stronger simply because they are machines. Could go either way ,however, depending on the percentage of human parts still remain... |

When Goku asked Krillin how he had a child with 18, Krillin said that she was a human, but just with her parts modified and strengthened. If Android 18 could reproduce, I'm pretty that she can train to get stronger, and same with 17 or 20. Not 16 or 19 though, they're completely synthetic. |

19 and 20 definitely were able to increase their power, it was stated that 19 absorbed enough ki from goku to increase his maximum power. 17 and 18 are humans with cybernetic implants that are patterned after organic tissues, not traditional machinery. if organic tissues can be trained, then the implants should be able to be trained, as well. 16's design is unique, and it is unknown if he can increase his power. since the other 4 can, and he's mechanically superior to them, i'd say that he can, as well. |

list of canon sources: the DB manga, and the Dr. Slump manga as it applies to the crossover during the rra saga. list of non canon sources: everything else, regardless of origin, format, or quality. for those that blindly follow word of god | |

Pretty much what most everyone else has been saying. 17 and 18 are cyborgs so they might be able to, Cell was organic so he could as well. 16, 19, and 20 (Gero) were basically complete machines as far as I know so they'd probably only get stronger with scientific modification, not training. |
