Miguel Cotto versus Floyd Mayweather.

Takes place May 5th 2012.

For the World Light-middleweight title.

This is a bout many thot justwould not happen, as it seemed Mayweather was avoiding Cotto for the best part. And now these two are going face off.
Excited to see this, didnt think it would happen.

When I saw this pop up, I could barely believe it. I always thought Mayweather was a paper champion. Ducking out of fights which he could lose. Now it seems he's finally ready to prove himself by fighting a worthy opponent. On paper this should be the fight of the decade.

Cotto can get cut. We saw that in his fight with Paquiao. He also has a rock solid chin. He's incredibly fast and possibly in the best shape he's ever been. Mayweather on the other hand, hasn't had a decent fight in years. He's never been properly tested. Honestly I don't think he'll have the heart or the conditioning to win. I think Cotto will knock him flat on his back. On the other hand this is boxing. Anything can happen. I want Cotto to kick his ***** though.

It's a bit unfair to call Mayweather as a paper champion. He's fought De La Hoya, Ricky Hatton, Juan Manuel Marquez, Shane Mosley, Victor Oritz and Arturo Gatti (who he destroyed). They were all top boxers who were either #2 or #3 pound for pound boxers in the world or undefeated champions. His non fight against Pacquiao isn't really his fault either as Manny refuses to do a simple blood test pretty unreasonably. I hate Mayweather as much as the next guy, but saying he avoids tough fights is a bit unfair.

Yeah you're right. I was being harsh. I think I'm just biased against him and want to see him get punched about like he's never been before. Knowing my luck, he'll completely dominate Cotto <_<

That's not true. Pacman sad i he would fight him but they had to split the pot 50/50 but Mayweather said he should get at least 60%.

He just wants more money because he knows he might actually lose to Pacman.

^ Wow, Mayweather is such a tool. Doesn't surprise me about him really. He had the fans on his side (kind of) and then he pulls this stuff. Oh well, this gives me more reasons to not like him.

Just to chime in, Mayweather is the biggest draw in sports individually. There is no way he should split any pot 50/50 when he doing the drawing. It's just business, not personal on his part as it should be

He's a pansy. After he said he wouldn't split the pot 50/50 Pacman was reported to of been thining about a 60/40 split. What happens next? Maywether accuses Pacman of being on roids and refuses to fight him for the sake of his family. He's a scared tool who looked poor against Cotto.

I was very impressed with his performance. the way he made a great fighter like Cotto look average is a testament to his ability. I didn't find it the most entertaining fight ever but it was clear to me that he is a special fighter. I don't believe that Paquiao could actually beat him. But anything's possible with boxing.

I think he looked pretty good against Cotto but Pacman looked a lot better in comparison. I hate to say it, but Pacman could be the only fighrer capable of beating him right now (which is why they need to fight!)

Also, if Mayweather wanted this fight so badly like he claimed then he'd split the pot. Even if he's a bigger draw, he doesn't have to get more money.

Yes he does. If you are the star, you have to get compensated for it. This aim charity, it is business and no one with fiscal sense and the drawing power he has would take anything less than 65/35 tbh. I know i wouldn't as oxing needs Floyd far more than he needs boxing to be successful

He wasn't even executing the right tactics with Cotto, instead choosing to fight Cotto's fight on the inside and he still won with barely a scratch on him. The last man I saw Cotto fight had his face busted up pretty bad. Great fighters make good fighters look average and that's exactly what Mayweather did to Cotto.

Well Floyd did say he was going to beat his butt while not even trying on TNT lol. He kept true to his word as he could have ended it at anytime but wanted to make an example out of him for running his mouth
