Could somebody check and tell me the date of the initial airing of Movie 8 and which anime episode and manga chapter were out at the time? Just curious.

This might help:

Or you can go to Kanzentai and just cross-check their dates.

Ok thanks, I got what I needed. Another question, then. How long do you think it takes to make a movie like that from scratch? Drafting the scenario, producing it etc.

I wouldn't have any idea. At least a couple months, I'd think.

This was the 90's, late 80's making a movie took months. Even a couple of years.

an anime series took even longer, a cartoon with almost 400 episodes is gonna need CONTINUOUS processing, drawing, development, and running the images through a super computer.

Even to this day, for those guys to make robot chicken took 6 months just to make a few episodes.

Movie 1: July 15, 1989
2: March 10, 1990
3: July 7, 1990
4: March 19, 1991
5: July 20, 1991
6: March 7, 1992
7: July 11, 1992
8: March 6, 1993
9: July 10, 1993
10: March 12, 1994
11: July 9, 1994
12: March 4, 1995
13: July 15, 1995

So, yeah. They were pretty much releasing them every March and July. With Lord Slug and Cooler both being released in July for some reason.

Edit: Wikipedia was wrong, Lord Slug was released in march...I changed it for them.

So then it took around a year to make one if we assume they started on the next one right away.
