...when fans of series that were undoubtedly influenced by the Dragon Ball trilogy, hate the Dragon Ball series? |

Are you actually asking this as a question or are you ticked off at people for hating Dragon Ball who like other series' that were influenced by it? I really don't see why they should like or love Dragon Ball automatically just because they watch or like a series that was influenced by it. |

Any fan of Naruto, Bleach, One Piece, etc. that does not like DBZ is because they saw the awful dubbing before Kai. |

I am actually asking this BECAUSE I'm a bit ticked off, but it's not just that this one person doesn't like DBZ. She doesn't even acknowledge DBZ had any influence and kind of just brushes off any attempts at explaining it, and... idk. Just seems a bit wrong to me.
I don't necessarily agree, because one could argue that any of those of those series have/had some terrible voices/acting as well. |

Well, not liking DBZ is one thing, but denying it had any influence on the later animes is just ridiculous. Naruto is a big example of an anime rife with DBZ influence. It sounds like your friend is just in denial of how successful and influential DB/Z has been. |

Why don't you show your friend interviews from authors of several manga that state they drew influence from Dragonball, and then see what your friend has to say? I'd love to see her deny it then. I know either the Naruto, One Piece, and/or Bleach authors have mentioned Dragonball or Toriyama in interviews at least. Edited by Pyrus, Feb 2 2012, 11:42 PM.
