I've noticed that in something's I've saw where someone will be doing something, like Yamcha in the Bojack movie or Krillin, ya know where they fall or something and they just fall, but couldn't they fly?

It only ever happens in the anime. Probably for comedic effects.

Better than Red.

Flying costs ki. Maybe they have lost so much strength that they can't fly?
Is it too late to tell you that I don't mind.

^This. Look back to the Frieza saga, just after the Large Genkidama hit Frieza, Gohan and Krillin had so much trouble flying over to Goku and Piccolo, because they had given up so much of their Ki during the fight.

people were flying in Dragon Ball so flying shouldn't be too much of a strain on most of the Z fighters (of course depending on what point of time during Z)

Formerly known as daman

I can walk but if you hit me hard enough I'll probably only be crawling.

It takes effort for them to fly.

Even though its a very remedial skill in DBZ, flying still takes concentration. So when they are in pain, after getting hit, unconsious, or just not focused, they won't just automatically fly. Also, I think if they are hit really hard, and flying back with great velocity, its hard to catch themselves.

Yeah, it might not have something to do with Ki consumption after the Saiyan Saga, but you still need to concentrate your Ki in order to fly. It's going to be pretty hard to focus your Ki if your being a hit like a rag doll.

Another example is in GT when Goku is trying to use instant transmission with Pan and Trunks on Emeka and both times they end up 100 feet in the air, annndddd falling hard to the ground

Well, theres ususally a purpose to when they don't fly. Like when Piccolo drops Vegeta in the Broly movie, and he just falls like 30,000 feet to the ground. Just to show how out of it Vegeta was. But when you think about it, past the Frieza saga, like every character has the power of a god. I don't think falls hurt them very much.

Most animes have those moments. It's like a fictional gravity that cartoons and animes have for humor. Whether they can fly or not they're in mid-air for a few seconds till they realize and look down only to crash
