Future Trunks; power during the buu saga

Do you think that he achieved SSJ2 back in his timeline and if so would he be less, more, or just as powerful as SSJ2 Gohan at the time?

Maybe even rivaling Goku.

He trained well enough during the 3-year period in prep for current time's cyborgs, so he would have the means to train. Also, I highly doubt that he would slack, especially since something else could possibly threaten the peace; I would hope that he would have inherited Vegeta's will in the time spent. Even so, I think he'd be lower tier amongst the likes of Cell 3 (Zenkai), Dabra (don't start), Older Gohan (SSJ2), SSJ2 Vegeta (SSJ2).

So he probably saw no reason to train, especially as he has nobody there to push him. I doubt that he got any stronger.

He would definitely keep training.

He had more important stuff though. The world needed fixing and i'd imagine that Capsule Corp would be at the forefront of that, so he would be concentrating on that I think.

There's Bulma, and Trunks has access to Gero's lab, or whatever condition it's in. Trunks's the guy who had to feel helpless against cyborgs for 20+ years. Why slack off on training, so something else could come and terrorize Earth again (Gohan move) ... #19 and #20, as well as #16 and Cell, were examples of threats that Future Trunks wasn't aware of. If guys like that popped up, then why couldn't anyone else. Non-canonically, Future Trunks assisted against #13 2, LEGEND BORLY, and Bojack; all were powerful foes that Future Trunks, alone, had no chance against. After living in hell for so long he would make sure he was always prepared for what came next. Because of that it never made sense for Gohan to stop training. I know Vegeta and Piccolo were still there, but I just don't see how someone who has seen just how bad things can get would ever slack off so much when it came to training.

Basically, during the "Buu Saga" of his time, the same thing happens, but instead them main enemys would be Dabura and Babadi. The entire saga would revolve around Trunks, Android 16, and the others, trying to stop Buu from even coming into existance. So the main battle would be between SSJ Trunks and Majin Dabura, and he would succeed in preventing Majin Buu's rebirth... I know I think about these things too much, haha. To answer the question, I don't think he ever would. Even though SSJ is tossed around a lot, SSJ2 is a very exclusive form, only unlocked by the best. Only Goku, Gohan, and Vegeta were able to unlock it. As much as I love Trunks, I don't feel like he has the same talent as Vegeta or Goku, and wouldnt be able to unlock it himself. I imagine him getting as strong as MSSJ Goku in the Cell saga, maybe a little stronger, but no more than a MSSJ. Edited by sylentknyte, Jan 28 2012, 09:31 PM.

Internet Explorer Favourite Manga DBZ , YuYu Hakusho ,Inuyasha , Yu Gi Oh ,Naruto	I know you guys like trunks and all,but it's been proven so many times that half breeds never keep training.Gohan,Goten and Trunks are all good examples of the half breeds not training in the time of peace.Did they do some light training?maybe.But let's say trunks did do some light training even though he didn't have a reason to anymore,he wouldn't have gotten a significant power up.maybe a 15% power up over the years at best. And if he did train?he'd probably be just below Pre Majin vegeta,and a bit above teen Gohan.
