I read that kid Vegeta was stronger than his father. We see 5 years old Vegeta alone kill 5 saibamens. If we counting that they were nothing less weaker than those we see on earth(power level 1200),it is really difficult to deal with them. But,if he had over 10 thousands power level in that age,how than 25 years later he had 18 thousand power level,so litlle improve for him. Age 732 Vegeta is born. Age 737 Frieza executes the Genocide of the Saiyans Age 762 Vegeta and Nappa arrive on Earth. So,I dont't think that kid Vegeta was stronger than his father,I think kid Vegeta had around 4500-5500 power level. Also, it is interesting how Frieza was always kind to litlle prince Vegeta. I think that Frieza wanted that one day Vegeta become boss of his entire army. |

It's a stated fact that Kid Vegeta was stronger than his father. It's not all that far-fetched that he improved very little from ~12k (in my opinion) to just 18k over all of those years. It's suggested that he rarely had to do any of the work himself, what with Raditz and Nappa by his side. Not to mention the use of Oozaru, although during the battle with Son Goku, he implies he doesn't like to use it. There was most likely nothing that could actually cause Vegeta any harm or give him a real workout for all of that time.

Yeah,It's interesting that he,Nappa and Raditz worked together. That would mean that Vegeta went in their favor, going to planets with weak population,it's like everybody with power level above 1000 is dangerous for Raditz. And then someone says that Vegeta wasn't man with good heart But,It's Vegeta after all.He wanted to beat Frieza,to be strongest in the universe, and yet 25 years did not do anything concrete to achieve that.Strange thing,If he never sended Raditz to Earth,Vegeta will probably spend his life trying to reach Cui od Zarbon power level. |

In the Manga he only says he passed his father as a kid, he didn't specifically state he was 5 years old when he did it. King Vegeta may have been dead when he did it, anywhere between ages 3-12. |

I always thought Vegeta's power level was naturally high, maybe 8,000-10,000 but that's just my guess. Remember after he beat those several saibamen he was given "the hardest mission available" from Frieza because he felt bored. The Bardock movie ends with Vegeta sitting in the middle of mass corpses, seemingly untouched. Maybe it was because he lived under the protection of Frieza that his power didn't increase too much over the years. Vegeta always looked bored in the flashbacks on his childhood or the fights he took part in prior to meeting Goku on Earth. Like when Vegeta beat those several saibamen in a couple seconds. Maybe Frieza took steps to keep his underlings' powers from escalating too much. Like the flashback on when Guldo was getting ready to fight Vegeta and Frieza ran Guldo over with his floating chair thing, breaking up the fight. After Vegeta started taking part in battles that pushed him to the edge of his power is when he started becoming really strong, what was it like in a year or two he went from power level 18,000 to being able to stand his ground against Frieza? I too always found it interesting how much Frieza seemed to like Vegeta, even as Vegeta aged. |

I think that Vegeta was quite independent.Like, decisions to go to Earth was made by him without Frieza knowlage,he and Nappa(earlier Rafitz) spent a year of time for that,so they actually could go fighting and training where they want and with powerful enemies,I don't think really that Frieza controled Vegeta power level. Remember fight between Vegeta and Cui,Vegeta sayed something like "while you spend your time relaxing I was training all the time, fighting everyone i came across, all the time becoming stronger and stronger."This did not sound like he was talking just about fight on the Earth,so yeah,he was improving in the last couple of years.
