Depends on when in the series you are talking about. If you are talking EoZ than it's Tien. |

Oh boy, here we go again. I think it's Krillin from the Freeza Arc until somewhere during the 7 years, then Tenshinhan completely outstrips him. |

I think from the moment Tien is introduced until the end of the series he is the strongest human character (except Uub). It really isn't disputed who is stronger until the Frieza Saga. Tien's power levels from Dragon Ball and the Saiyan Saga of Z are consistently higher than Krillin's (as evidenced by Bulma's scouter readings and the Daizenshuu). Krillin gets an unknown boost from Guru, Tien gets an unknown boost from training with King Kai (and he stayed on the planet much longer than Goku, Piccolo, or Yamcha). We don't really know who is stronger as we don't see Tien in action again until the Androids, but considering Tien is shown to be definitely more powerful both before AND after this moment in time it holds to reason that he was more powerful here as well. But I think just based on what we see in the manga, Tien is stronger. When Goku, Piccolo, Tien, and Krillin first encounter Androids 19 and 20 (after 20 has impaled Yamcha) Goku specifically sends Krillin away from the fight to save Yamcha. I think it stands to reason that if Krillin were stronger than Tien, Goku would've sent Tien away instead. When Piccolo, Vegeta, Trunks, and Tien are fighting Androids 17 and 18 Krillin just stands there, paralyzed with fear. Later on, Krillin and Tien are both faced with the same task (at slightly different points in time): keep Semi-Perfect Cell from absorbing Android 18. Tien succeeds in doing so by holding off Cell for quite some time with the Neo Tri-Beam. Argue all you want about whether or not he hurts him, but to keep Cell in that spot against his will for such a long period of time would have to require quite a bit of power. On the other hand, Krillin fails to keep Cell from absorbing 18. Cell basically swats him away like a fly. After the Cell Games Krillin essentially retires whereas Tien does literally nothing except train, so I don't think it's even debatable past that point. Krillin and Yamcha both get eaten like nothing by Super Buu whereas Tien is able to deflect and dodge a few attacks from Super Buu (post Gotenks and Piccolo absorption) before getting knocked out with a kick. Tien is still ultimately insignificant next to Buu, but at least he does something useful (saving Gohan, Dende, and Satan; buying Goku a little time). The only thing I am aware of which indicates Krillin EVER being stronger than Tien is Yamcha's comment towards Marron, but I don't think Yamcha was in a position to make that call considering he hadn't seen Tien in seven years. I think it was more of a reassurance kind of thing. If you count anime filler (not saying you should or shouldn't as I believe the above stands on its own) I think it becomes even more clear: -Tien survives the longest against the Illusion Saiyans in the Pendulum Room -Tien defeats both Burter and Jeice at the same time whereas Krillin could barely scratch Recoome. -Tien actually lands some offense in the fight against the Cell Jrs whereas Krillin basically gets one-shotted and stays down. Tien is also shown being knocked to the ground no fewer than four times, implying that he was able to continue to get back to his feet and fight. |

That whole bottom part is filler. I don't think you want to include filler because Krillin's an absolute beast in the Pure Boo portion. |

 This is such a well thought out post; may I hug you? <3 (It also validates my crush on Tenshinhan, so thank you for that.) I would even go so far as to argue that Tenshinhan is the only "useful" human after the Frieza saga, in that he plays a more pivotal role in the fighting sense than any of the other human characters. Krillin was important in the Androids/Cell saga but not for fighting directly, and more for plot purposes. Edited by Silvia, Jan 19 2012, 02:16 AM.

EDIT: post directed at ObsessiveFanGuy Thanks for reading the part where I directly qualified the bottom as filler and said that you don't have to consider if if you don't want to. As for the Buu vs Krillin scene? All that happens is -Krillin and Yamcha hug each other in fear and then are blown away by Buu powering up -Krillin hits Buu with a Destructo Disk, which cuts him in half for a split second but doesn't appear to actually DO anything (Buu was actually smiling the whole time) -Buu beats the hell out of Krillin, Yamcha helps Krillin to his feet -Yamcha and Krillin fire attacks at Buu's, which does nothing -Buu locates Goku and leaves I don't see how that constitutes Krillin being a "beast", especially considering dead characters are stated multiple times in the anime to be more durable than living ones (see: Chiaotzu on King Kai's planet, assorted characters in Hell being impaled and surviving, Goku telling Vegeta to be careful fighting Buu after he returns to life since his body will take more damage). Also, in more Krillin-centric filler, he totally gets punked by first form Cell on that airplane and is only saved by the arrival of Piccolo and Tien. Edited by Famicommander, Jan 19 2012, 02:20 AM.

Krillin messed up bad with the remote lol. Hmmm I bet if Krillin was asked to hold back semi-perfect Cell the way Tien did, the outcome wouldn't have been very good. |

Krillin TRIED to stop Cell from absorbing 18, just like Tien did. Tien blasted Cell into a giant hole and held him there long enough for 18 to pick up a near-dead 16 and then fly away slowly. Krillin attacked Cell, got swatted away, and then watched Cell absorb 18. They both had the same goal against the same opponent. Tien succeeded, Krillin failed. |

The Cell Tien held down and didn't even scratch was about as similar to the Cell Krillin tried to stop physically, as the Goku who fought Nappa was to the one who fought Goku. Cell was suppressed as all hell and got surprised when Tien blasted him. Cell had powered up to his max to fight Vegeta and Trunks when Krillin threw punches at him. - The fact is in DB, Tien was stronger. - The fact is to start Z, Tein was stronger - The fact is Krillin was stronger on Namek than Tien with King Kai as Piccolo was the strongest on Kai's planet, and he described the power of Gohan, Krilling, and Piccolo as big when they were facing Frieza. - The fact is it set in stone that going into the tournament Krillin was the strongest of the three,. Yamcha made the statement based off the last time all of the humans were together and had to fight for their lives which was versus the Cell Jrs. Yamcha didn't qualify it to Marron, he thought it to himself because that was just how things were. - Krillin was also not mentioned as having stopped training to he had a family btw so there was room for improvement from when he fought the JRs, but I have no problem calling Tien stronger after he became a family man. And then if you want to get filler technical - Piccolo tells goku point blank that the two of them, and , Krillin can take Rrieza and Vegta of just get the dragon balls and wish him back. He flat out disregards Tien, Yamcha, and Chiaotzu as trash and unnecessary when he thinks about going to face off aginst those two on Namek. He on the other hand values Krillin. - Garlic Jr saga happens and they show that he is still training and has gotten even stronger than he was on Namek when he was already stronger than the other humans, - Krillin out right states that he would be 100% sure he would win vs the androids if he could go SSJ, so his improvement is implied to be great - Krillin actually makes Cell scream in pain when he saves that girl and boy by physically hitting him. Take into account that Cell had been absorbing people since the Piccolo fight, yet Krillin hurt him with physical strength which was something Tien never did anybody in Z outside a Saibabman and the Ginyu filler. In fact the only other time int h anime Tien tried to physically hurt someone solo and not use his haxed Tribeam was versus 17 who rag dolled him - Krillin is stated to be the only human who trains to fight Cell at the Cll Games while Tien and Yamcha choose not to compete or prepare. - Krillin also versus the Cell Jrs is the only human who didn't get out right dominated one on one. In fact the cell jr didn't even hurt him, until one of the ones piccolo attacked surprised him from behind, as he spent the early onslaught outright dodging every attack, whereas Tien and Yamcha got hammered straight up after blocking the first round of blows before Piccolo saved them. - Krillin is shown to be able to train with 18 and implied to do it throughout the time leading to the tournament. - Krillin says outright in th Funi dub when he hears about the no super saiyan rule, he can finish Ina top place, and that is without knowing about the junior division,which means he had to think or know he could take both base boys. - Krillin in the anime was not scared of any of Babadis henchmen but Dabura, wow was ssj2 level, which is a testament to how strong he was (Tien too) - While trunks gets the radar, Gotwn and Krillin are shown to spar equally on the lookout - Krillin is brought to other world by King Kai as a plan b to fight Super Buu. - To be exact, in the anime the Kai's note that Kid Buu was sensing for great powerslam the whole universe. Kid Buu senses Krillin and Yamcha sparring across the universe, which tells how strong they (Tien lumped in too) have become in the anime world. The other world fighters including Pikkon watched when Buu showed real power, yet Krillin and Yamcha attacked which basically showed that the three earthlings were universal beasts in the eyes of Toei and Funi - In fact if you want to be technical, Yamcha pawned Olibu and another fighter from the tournament like they were fodder at once and bragged they couldn't touch him, yet he admitted to being inferior to Krillin. Krillin also stated while watching Yamcha that he can never get him to train seriously back on earth, which basically says Krillin has trained in that gap as I stated before. * Piccolo let Tien come with him to look for Cell true, but you also need to remember that it was Krillin who came up with the plan to kill that timelines Cell and that Trunks was also there, so it had nothing to do with power as he could have easily went with piccolo while Tien went with Krillin since both Tien and Krillin were implied int eh anime to be weaker than Gohan in the android arc who Trunks says needs to stay behind and protect Goku from a possible android attack. Summary DB - Tien Z Saiyan arc - Tien Namek - Cell Games - Krillin Post 7 years - EOZ - Tien That is basically it in the manga and anime. No matter how you slice it, it is stated that Krillin was stronger by Yamcha in print and film than himself and Tien, and the only time he could make that comparison were the games. Krillins as simply thought of as being more relevant and essential to the team throughout the majority of Z. |

I believe Tien is the answer here. Like other people have said, he has showed more power through out the series compared to Krillin |
