It's on the image. Just type the URL that's on top right corner of image, it's one of main stories. Should find it on first page. Of course the official vote (if they even go that far now) isn't until a week or so, but this is where expected votes were/are when compared by days.

I really wanna know what would've happened though if this whole protest didn't happen or even if it did and they didn't give a rats *****. I mean how far can the public really go in convincing how delegates if they were that stubborn. If the law was passed this year how would people react?

Truth is that this thing isn't really over. They're going to visit this topic in an estimated month and all that power we had might not work again....or people might not give a crap again

Well it's hardly over by a long shot

I'll be honest. I really don't download anything for free. I did when I was like 14 but I didn't know any better of the world. I don't use limewire, or torrents or anything. I'm probably seen as stupid because it's all free and waiting for the taking but I don't always feel right. I was considering torrent Photoshop if I could get my laptop back in time but I don't know if I will even have the choice :p ANd of course when I say I don't download free stuff, that doesn't include things on youtube. That's probably the only thing I really get for free that may or may not be offered for free.

Anyway, for all you who download free thing. Better get it over with now befoer it's all gone :p

This is why SOPA/PIPA is a bad idea because it would be abused, current laws already get abused.

This is the song in question: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K9caPFPQUNs

It was censored when it came out.

This is by far the biggest error in this legislation. Companies will bicker over whose is what and why and processes like that will take so long that by the time it's done some of it becomes irrelevant. As far as courts are concerned, that would take forever and it would probably come down to whoever has the best lawyer

After the public outcry it's political suicide to still support these things. I think most of the rest will come around to as well.

To be fair, I can see why people would want to shut down something like Limewire, because that thing is literally just a hub for computer viruses, but this thing about UMG taking down a song they don't own is ridiculous. They're just being massive hypocrites.

I really think the blackout worked, I do. I mean that chart I gave on the last page showed that. Both SOPA and PIPA might NOT even make it to a vote. Not only have some people switched sides on the potential legislature, they're saying they will FIGHT against it.

Comments from my senator today AFTER the blackout:
Quote:

“Both PIPA and SOPA give the federal government unprecedented and unconstitutional power to censor the Internet,” Paul said in a statement. “These bills enable the government to shut down websites that it deems guilty of violating copyright laws.”
Paul continued: “While we support copyright protections, we are also concerned about websites being shut down without their day in court, and making innocent third parties bear the costs of solving someone else’s problems.
I will not sit idly by while PIPA and SOPA eliminate the constitutionally protected rights to due process and free speech. For these reasons, I have pledged to oppose, filibuster and do everything in my power to stop government censorship of the Internet,” Paul said.

Update:

Quote:

Senate Minority Leader McConnell Tells Reid/Leahy To Kill PIPA

Looks like the next domino in the SOPA/PIPA fight just fell. Tony Romm is reporting that Senate minority leader, Senator Mitch McConnell is calling on Democrats to drop PIPA. That has a high likelihood of killing off what little Republican support is left for PIPA, because where McConnell goes, so go most Republican Senate votes. [...] I'm still worried this now becomes a partisan issue, but it's still pretty stunning that Democratic leadership appears to have made a really, really bad calculation on the politics of this bill.

Yeah, I'm really starting to doubt this even gets voted on now. Might not even exist in a few more days.

If it does happen to pass regardless I hope we can all start loathing government and their 'point a gun at everything' solutions much as I do. I highly doubt it will pass given the current circumstances though.

This is absolutely great news. What a turnaround. I'm actually flabbergasted at the power we have.
