Ok. Ive seen a whole bunch of posts and things saying base Gotenks is above ssj3 Goku. Is this a pre ROSAT or post ROSAT measure? Dont flame me for askingthis lol. Ive seen somewhere someone say it was a pre ROSAT measure but it was awhile ago.. If he was thn why did fat Buu own Gotenks? Or was that filler.. Not totally sure. | ||||||||||||||||||||||

We never saw the fight between Base Gotenks and Fat Boo in the manga, so that was anime filler. We did, however, see Gotenks come back all bruised and beaten up. As for his strength, it's his post-RoSaT Base strength that's well above SSjin 3 Goku's power. This is because he surpassed his previous Super Saiyan power by quite a margin (enough for Piccolo to think "let there be a miracle" before seeing him to "HOLY CRAP THIS IS AMAZING THEY TOTALLY HAVE A CHANCE!!1!11!"), which was already above Goku's power as a Super Saiyan 3. |

Adding to this: when Gotenks fused into base form to fight Super Buu, Piccolo said they have a chance before he even knew they could turn Super Saiyan while they're already fused. Edited by Clearin, Jan 15 2012, 07:00 PM.

Exactly, so he wasn't calculating their Super Saiyan power into it when he made that observation.

I don't think Gotenks was really all that strong, and Gotenks really couldn't take too many hits.. I view goku, Vegeta, and Gohan to still be stronger.. And I'm referring to the Vegeta that fought super and kid buu | ||||||||||||||||||||||

You'd have to disprove Goku's claims of Gotenks being stronger (pre-RoSaT), and then Gotenks getting a buttload stronger through the RoSaT. Him not being able to take too many hits doesn't really hold any relevance, since it's not like Goku could have lasted even a second against Evil Boo. |

Well, SSJ Gotenks (Pre) could possibly be a rival to SSJ3 Goku since we're only given that SSJ Gotenks > Majin Buu. Then, Piccolo states Super Buu >> Fat Buu and Piccolo expects SSJ Gotenks to get a lot stronger and still thinks they wouldn't have a chance. Then, Base Gotenks literally blows Piccolo's expectations out of the water and states Base Gotenks (Post) has a chance. So, Gotenks should literally be multi-folds above SSJ3 Goku. | ||||||||||||||||||||||

Did Goku ever actually say Gotenks would be stronger than him? I just recall him saying Gotenks would definitely beat Fat Buu, something Goku could also do. |

imo... I felt generous having Gotenks increase a bit more than x2 in the short amount of time he was in RST And Gotenks had no chance against Buu; Piccolo was being optimistic to the point of grandiose delusion. Even if Gotenks was 5 times as strong as SSJ3 Goku, he would not have had a chance; so saying that Gotenks had a chance against Buu is either optimism at its finest or Gotenks is near Super Buu's power; we know that the later isn't true. |

Base Gotenks (Post) should be a lot stronger than SSJ Gotenks (Pre) though. Piccolo states that Gotenks would need to power up a lot (as an SSJ since he expects Gotenks to fight Buu as SSJ) and still thinks Super Buu would win. Then, Base Gotenks surpasses Piccolo's expectations and states Gotenks has a chance. Base Gotenks (Post) > Super Buu > SSJ Gotenks (Expectations) >>> SSJ Gotenks (Pre) |

Or at least said something about Goten and Trunks having more potential which could imply that Gotenks > SSJ3 Goku. This is going by fanslations though. | ||||||||||||||||||||||
