Maybe not a new perspective but I think it's different. I wanted to know how you all felt about his concept. And this isn't just to question or attack all the Christians or insult atheists, so don't take me post it the wrong way. I simply what some perspective from you all. Here's the Video,

if need be this can be moved to Deep Discussion, wasn't sure if it would come to it.

Believing in Jesus without relying on religion that is the best thing that guy said. I believe there are gods like in Norse and Greek mythology without relying going to a building to pray to the almighty invisible man in the sky.

Except that's not all he said, he's pretty much talking about Christianity as if it wasn't a religion, which is insane.

I mean the poam sounds nice but the message is absolute rubbish.

The Amazing Atheist? That is the one of the stupidest things ever uploaded to Youtube. It's point isn't to prove religion etc wrong, rather it's a bias video based on a shaky foundation with tons of expletives.

It's like stupid people looking at the philosoraptor and thinking it really has a deep meaning.

^If reading this makes your insides "tingle" then I can understand why you like The Amazing Atheist.

As a note I didn't watch the original video, but had to reply to this.

Of course his video is bias, it's not going to be unbiased is it? The poem is biased in favour of Christianity.

And if it doesn't make my insides "tingle" then you can't understand? :p

As I said I didn't watch the original video, so I wont defend it.

I dislike The Amazing Atheist mainly because of his arrogant approach to all issues. He is no different than people who stand on the street holding sign that say, "honk if you love Jesus", he's more worried about "yelling louder" at whoever he's calling out than using a logical argument.

My point with the pic was that there are (in my opinion) only 2 reasons to watch his videos. Firstly, you're either a die hard atheist who tries too hard. I mean when did it become an atheist responsibility to call out religious believers? It used to be that religious groups people called out other people because they proclaimed that they wanted to help them whether it's that intention or not is moot, the point of this channel is to bash.

The other reason (which is why I gave the pic) is because you have no clue what you're watching. You're the same person who if went to church and was told Jesus was your savior then you would automatically believe it, just because someone told you that and your insides "tingled" or whatever.

That having been said, I heard a while back that a lot of people jumped off his bandwagon simply because he kept going overboard, maybe when he started he did use solid logical tactics instead of using the whole it's just this way argument type.

When people feel what they believe in is being attacked they kinda lose their cool. Probably a lack of confidence in their own beliefs.

Everyone. I didn't find TheAmazingAthiest very good though.

I think the point of the original video was that you don't have to follow the masses when it comes to religion. Someone can make up god for themselves  Maybe some points were exaggerated though, for added attention to the video.

So much this.

In any event, I really liked the video Rebel shared. It makes interesting points on Christianity and the character of Jesus. I do believe that if Christianity did follow letter for letter the teachings of Jesus and not the additions and interpretations of other men then the world today, two thousand years later, would be a very different place.

How do we know what Jesus' real teachings were though? For all we know, he could have been a drunken nutter, wanting the extermination of all the infidels.

We can't be sure that Shakespeare actually wrote his plays, that isn't to say we should assume he didn't. I don't believe we should all believe that Jesus is the son of God, but we should think of him as a man that has been remembered through the ages - there must be a reason for that, and the teachings that have been attributed to him are quite likely it.
