Anonymous plan to go after Sony because of their support for SOPA, this in my opinion was to be expected and I think it may well become a trend if companies publically support the bill, will this change much though? http://spong.com/article/26025/Anonymous-Hack-Group-Issues-Death-Warrant-to-Sony http://playstationlifestyle.net/2011/12/29/anonymous-to-destroy-sonys-online-network-for-sopa-support/ |

This is a major step in Anonymous' activity. What this brings into question is what will Sony's reaction be? Do they have their arm twisted enough to cease support of SOPA? They know what Anon can do. Apparently Sony have updated their defences but if Anon are planning an attack of this magnitude, it might not be enough. Few Questions : Would it be advisable to change your password now? Do you think this will have any major effect on the SOPA bill? Do you agree with what Anonymous is doing? |

Anonymous needs to get over itself and it's supposed "Justice". Sony isn't afraid of Anonymous annoyed yes but afarid I doubt it. I'm sure Sony will handle Anonymous and Anonymous will look like a fool. |

1: No, if you are going to change your password, it should be done after and if Sony are a decent compnay, they will force password resets, like Steam did. 2: It will have an effect on how companies react, they may not want to be vocal about supporting it. 3: I'm not sure, it depends how far they go.
I'm not sure you fully understand, for one, while I don't support a lot of things done by Anonymous, they have done some good things and to disrupt a company is a legitimate form of protest in my opinion, which is what this is, they are protesting against Sonys support for SOPA. |

I don't think Sony has a lot of options, they either 1) Change there view on SOPA 2) Get hacked and wait it out. |

This is pretty much the reality. Sony has been hacked for so many reasons THIS YEAR, it's not even funny. Sony left themselves vulnerable the first time they got hacked big, and since then it's been downhill for them. I mean, from the PSN Hack they STILL don't know what all data was stolen form them, and these guys like Lulsec aren't IN THE SAME LEAGUE as the guys we're talking about now. This WILL be bad for Sony. Edited by Cal, Dec 30 2011, 08:38 PM.

Agreed.^ You don't get Anon angry. Sony is *****ed, plain and simple. They better revoke their support of SOPA, and if any other companies don't want trouble, they'd be smart to follow suit. Edited by Pyrus, Dec 30 2011, 08:58 PM.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-16330396 http://www.dailytech.com/Anonymous+Hacks+NATO+Hackers+Deface+Anonymous+Site/article22225.htm Anonymous aren't harmless, they're deadly. Sony are still reeling from the last hack. If anon attack again, it's all over for Sony. |

It's worth noting that because they are a loose group of people, they could be anyone, so the talent for hacking is there, it just depends on if the right people have the motivation and chances are in this case, they do. There are many faces of Anonymous. |

That's why they're so deadly and, honestly, scary. They're normal people. Also, say there was a group of people who took action against the Government through physical means. They could be detained quite easily. But it's not the case here, we don't know who they are, and that's why they have power. |

Word of wisdom for PS3 owners (other Sony products) .... If you have a working credit card affiliated with Sony you might want to take it off of you're account for a while just to be safe. |

Feeling good over here with my Xbox, even though I know Microsoft isn't safe either obviously. Anyway, yeah, Sony probably can't handle another attack that'll most certainly be worse than the last one. |
