Websites are considering transfering their domain names to other places after GoDaddy voiced support for the SOPPA bill going through the US congress, according to the BBC article, "Wikipedia said it would move its domains away from GoDaddy, as did the Cheezburger Network, owner of Lolcats, and image hosting firm Imgur." and these are big names.

Though it depends how many sites follow suit, domain names aren't too expnsive but it depends how many domains one company owns and if they are going to move away too.

Someone actually supports sopa!! what the heck!! It seems that there's no hope for GoDaddy now for supporting sopa. Seriously, who would want that in place?

What is the bill about and why doesn't it effect these domain owners?

Well godaddy sells software so that could be why they actively support the bill, since programs get pirated on the internet.
Also GoDaddy are going to be exempt from shutdowns under SOPA, guess that's a reward for supporting the bill.

That's a good point, although GoDaddy now say they aren't supporting it, which would mean they would lose that reward.
