Base Future Trunks (Cell Games) vs

match

#18

#17

#17, #18

How does he win and why?

imo, he went SSJ to take them out in the Future; if he could have stomped in base, he probably would have. I don't think base was anywhere near #18's power.

There's no indication base Future Trunks could beat the Androids in base. It would also be pretty illogical from a storytelling perspective.

Trunks isn't the show-offy type, not even in a spiteful way, so I don't see him turning SSjin just to show off power.

If anything, if one does believe he was stronger than them in base, you could say he was just being cautious. That much is definitely in-character for him. Either way, I doubt 2 years in RoSaT training would make his Base surpass his pre RoSaT SSjin. I think he went SSjin for necessity. He loses every time.

I might have to disagree a little there. He wanted to make the androids pay for killing his best friend, Gohan. By going Super Saiyan and outranking them by that huge of a gap, he was basically saying, "Hey, you remember when you killed Gohan? Here's a taste of your own medicine. How does it feel to be the weak ones now?" At least in my opinion.

But I understand those that don't think he outranked them in Base. I wouldn't have a problem with that, although the Super Saiyan multiplier for him and Vegeta would have to be gigantic in order to keep their powers above 50% MSSjin Goku.

IMO in base he can take 18 n 17 alone with some effort.
Together they kill him.

Well I just don't see them taking both on in base, maybe 1v1, and getting back up to full health after fighting one of them.

Base Future Trunks sends Imperfect Cell who is way above Future 17/18, flying with a kiai.

In the Buu Saga, Base Gohan/Goku > Piccolo, which logically means that Base Trunks/Vegeta should probably be around Piccolo already considering they aren't far behind Goku...

Cell was suppressed in order to sneak up on Trunks IIRC. I can't check right now due to me being on my iPod, sorry.

He probably was. But even so, once Trunks and Cell started talking, massive suppression shouldn't be needed I would think.

It appears that Cell was still suppressed until they fought up on the cliff. Cell gathered an aura and Trunks went Super Saiyan. And there's this:

Chapter: 420 (DBZ 226), P2.3
Context: after Trunks tells Cell he’ll defeat him
Cell: “Trunks…All of your data has been scanned by the spy robot…With your power, you couldn’t possibly defeat No.17 or No.18, let alone me…”

So either Trunks was suppressed below the data Gero collected on him, or Cell can't sense Ki in that timeline.

Nice find...

So do we think Cell is talking about Trunks right before he came back from defeating Freeza where he got his data from?
