Who should have REALLY destroyed Cell ?

1.GOKU - Why didn't Goku make kamehameha just a little wider so he destroys whole Cell and he can't regenerate, instead of risking his son's life ? :@
2.VEGETA - mercilessly killed so many warriors without screwing around TOO much(Cui,Dodoria,Zarbon,Pui Pui,Recoome,Burter,Jeice),usually taunting an enemy, trash talking then killing.Against guys who humiliated him his whole life he didn't waste too much time torturing them,he just killed them after some trash talking. But then suddenly against semi-perfect Cell he starts screwing around 2-3 episodes, and eventually gives him a chance to get stronger :o_O:

Adding a fact that Gohan reached SSJ,FPSSJ and then SSJ2 so fast and easy(compared to Goku and Vegeta) just proves it...

Toriyama made a conspiracy against Goku and Vegeta ! He wanted Gohan to finish off Cell :|

IMO it should have been Goku, but the fight should have been prolonged a bit more, and then just when he is about to lose,he does a Instant Kamehameha

amiright ?

Gohan was perfect to finish off Cell. We'd heard all about his hidden power for so long it was time he actually beat a main villain with it. Goku and Vegeta both had something to do with it so they came out of it with credit.

The more I think about this the more I like the idea of Gohan killing him. I mean even from the start of DBZ it's shown that Gohan has hidden power within. I think it's very fitting that Gohan should finally unleash that power and finish off an enemy even Goku couldnt kill.

Edit: beat me to it Luke!!

i think vegeta should have killed cell. i dont like the fact that gohan became stronger than goku. that doesnt cut it for me, goku is supposed to be the man, i hate how goku just so easily admits that gohan is stronger than him, its not fair, goku should always be the strongest no matter what. vegeta should have been the one to kill cell because he deserves it, he trains the second hardest, and he wants it the most. it doesnt seem right that vegeta the prince of all saiyans is the 3rd strongest. i also dont like how vegeta knows it too

I was against agohan doing it initially in the manga and DBZ anime, but then I watched Kai. They built it up perfectly, and I have to admit that it should, have been Gohans kill. We finally saw what Piccolo saw in him and spent a year teaching him for. We saw what Krillin risked it all to get him to Guru for. We saw what Vegeta meant when he said Gohan didn't even know his true power when talking to Frieza. We saw what Goku saw in that chamber. They built up that moment for Gohan, and he delivered. He became a man right before the eyes of everyone, a warrior, a true saiyan, and someone who no longer was afraid to protect himself and others without someone having his back.

Piccolo.

He needed another kill under his belt. And he did so well throughout the entire saga.

All he got was weak Raditz and weak Goku :(

And Babidi... XDDD

They didn't even let him have #20. They should have given him Cell... at least for the lols.

I would have loved for Piccolo to have taken Vegeta's place. It would have fit much more imo, both because it was Gohan and Piccolo needed one last heroic moment.

But I do think Gohan should have killed Cell, it wouldn't have made sense for him not too unless Toriyama changed the entire Gohan vs Cell part to make it Vegeta vs Cell or something.

I see nothing wrong with Gohan being the one to kill Cell. It was one of my favorite moments of the series. And if Gohan didn't kill Cell, all the talk of Gohan's hidden potential from the beginning of the series would've been useless, and so would Gohan's training in the RoSaT.

From a storyline point of view, Gohan should have killed Cell, it made sense, his hidden power and all. But, I wouldn't have been against it if Vegeta, after seeing his son shot by Cell and dying, raged to SSJ2 and killed Cell. I know it would have completely changed the Boo saga in pretty much every way, but then you could argue that we have seen Gohan's hidden power being used by going SSJ2 and now we see Vegeta actually showing love for his son which he spent 2 years with inside the RoSaT training with him (or away from him, for that matter).

But as much as I would like to see that, I'm also glad it didn't turn out like that, I mean, it would ruin Gohan's story as it means his hidden power we have seen all this time is < Vegeta rage which we have never really seen previously yet he achieved SSJ2 also (does that make sense?)

If i'm honest it would have been pretty epic if somehow, Hercule ACTUALLY managed to somehow prove he is a hero and destory Cell, even if by accident.
Hey Piccolo......are..are you a Yoshi?

The only acceptable alternative solution for me would have been Cell killing Gohan in place of Trunks when he uses IT to return to earth. Then they all work together and go all out to somehow pull off a kill.

i really wanted it to end with Goku vs Cell. No More Rules specifically, the complete episode was epic. Plus, the anime made the fight speciaal with best fight, best orchestral compositions, and one final touch: the brilliant Instant Transmission Kamehameha.

Full Power SSJ SUn Goku must have killed Cell.

I think Gohan was a good choice.. But.. On the other hand i would have prefered Vegeta to kill Cell.. But Gohan was a good choice. I just wish there was more of a fight between him and Cell after his Zenkai.

Gohan is definitely my choice. In my opinion, DBZ was a subtly Gohan-oriented series. We saw him go from a snivelling little kid to the strongest in the world by the end of the Cell arc. After that, though....

has anyone ever stopped to think that maybe Trunks just bought his sword somewhere or something? There's nothing really special about it.

Well it did manage to slice Frieza into a shishkebab so it must've been packing more power than your average blade. Hell even Zelda's sword couldn't pull off that ****.

I don't believe in power levels after the Frieza Saga. :D
Now, there's an idea.

Gohan was the only logical choice. He began as a whiny little kid, and you saw him transform as the series progressed. Finally, the "potential" that everyone claimed he had was unlocked when he fought Cell, and his ascension and destruction of Cell and the Cell Juniors made for one of the franchise's greatest moments.
