Did AT want to end it at the Frieza saga or the Cell saga? Because from what I understood both sagas at the end were set up for the final ending of the series.

Favourite Manga dat boi	Dragon Ball was originally designed to be a one-shot comedy series ending at the Pilaf Saga, so that was the actual first ending. The first ending in DBZ was supposed to be the Saiyan saga, because Toriyama intended for the Saiyan Saga to be sort of like a one-shot ending to Dragon Ball.

Favourite Manga dat boi	Yes, and I believe I read somewhere that at some point his editors made him write more. I think it may have been after Dragon Ball, or after the Frieza saga.
