What would happen if trunks died?

1. This is more or less a hypothetical question. If future trunks did indeed die when cell blasted through him, would he have went to heaven in his own timeline (future) or the other world in the timeline he was in? This is assuming there is seperate otherworlds because we dont see doubles of everyone in heaven/hell.

2. Another question, which im sure has been asked before (sorry if it has been) is why didnt future trunks just us the current timeline dragonballs and wish for everyone in his future timeline back to life? Only reason i can think of ia that you cant use those db's to make a wish in another timeline, but that was never stated.

3. And lastly, if it is impossible to use the current db's for a future wish why didnt trunks return home, kill the threats (androids and cell) so there timeline can be peaceful, then he and bulma come back to the current timeline so they can live/train/help with there friends and families

1) I don't think it's necessarily called "Heaven" if I remember correctly, but it's been a while... I think he would go to the timeline he originated from, probably, but I really have no clue. Good question.

2) Wow, that's weird. I'm actually writing a fanfiction about that exact same topic. It makes me glad to know someone else thought of it! The only reasonable explanation I can come up with is that it would be selfish to go back in time just to take the dragon balls when he could be helping them and altering the future. (That is basically what my story is about). Interesting.

3) Bulma and Trunks didn't return because the people in the past weren't their families. They were totally different people. And there was already a Trunks and Bulma in the currect timeline, so why tamper with those peoples' futures? They were better off to keep to their own timeline and start fresh.

1. The timelines are like different universes, so i'd say there's a different otherworld. Otherwise, you'd see all the future guys up there (although, it was never stated that they weren't there).
2. That's interesting. It probably wouldn't work but they could have at least asked. They had a spare wish after all, someone should have brought it up as a possibility at least. Maybe Trunks had already asked Dende off panel?
3. That would be unfair. Bulma is a genius, probably the smartest person left alive in that timeline, she was needed to restore the planet. Trunks was the only warrior left, if he left that timeline would have no one to protect them.

It probably won't be completed for a while now, but I plan on posting chapters here on the forum soon. I like the idea, so I'm going to try to stick it out.

For question 2, you can't revive people who have been dead for over a year.

When was that stated? When Goku died for the first time, I'm pretty sure he stayed dead for longer than a year, unless it was a year exactly which would be odd. I could be wrong, but I'd like to see a quote or something because I just can't remember.

Goku was actually dead for a little less than a year. I remember someone saying it's a bit early (like 11 months iirc).

Anyway I can't get the 100% Japanese line but in the Viz manga this is what Kami says:
"Although, if you want to bring back everyone whom those two killed, I'm afraid we would be limited to those who died in the past year."

But wasn't Dende's dragon stronger, like more wishes and less restrictions?

Yeah, but the only specifications on its new strengths was that it could bring multiple people back from the dead with one wish, while still retaining two wishes to use.

has anyone ever stopped to think that maybe Trunks just bought his sword somewhere or something? There's nothing really special about it.

Well it did manage to slice Frieza into a shishkebab so it must've been packing more power than your average blade. Hell even Zelda's sword couldn't pull off that ****.

I don't believe in power levels after the Frieza Saga. :D
Now, there's an idea.
