I would like to see us pull out of foriegn affairs a bit, but we don't know what the effects of that could be. Like Ninja said, America has been this way ever since they became a world power - always sticking their noses in other people's business, even if it is for the "greater good."

The thing is, sometimes we can't help everyone, and sometimes we make things worse. Either way, we'd either be helping too much or shutting out the world entirely, which isn't really what America represents. I'm stumped on this one. 0.o

Also, while I agree that our economy is definitely not doing very well, I wouldn't say that it is going to "fail." Not completely, and probably not anytime in the very near future. Hopefully we will focus more on rebuilding our own nation this next term.

LOL @ Cal. I definitely don't plan on majoring on politics, so don't worry. :p

Greetings. I will be your waifu this season.

Yeah each nation should just keep to its self really as long as nuclear weapons don't stat flying around there's no reason any superpower should invade anyone
It's just stupid to think you can do that without consequence
America doesn't own the damn world humans don't in general it's not OUR planet we just live here, we should work together to make it a better place
Not slowly destroy it for no good reason

I actually kinda wish something terrible would happen like soe kind of wide scale disaster that affects everyone that way our race would come together and for a time there would at least be some peace

Politics, meh load of crap just a load of people who shouldn't have control over anything because we all just ruin everything

America has traditionally favoured a non interference policy up until the cold war. That's when it started to go wrong. So concerned with the threat of communism that they had to have eyes and soldiers everywhere. Now the excuse is terrorism. The reason why we have terrorists is because of hate. They hate because certain governments like to stick their noses where they're not needed. Well how much terrorism are they really preventing? How about only interfering when people ask for you to interfere? That might be a better strategy.

i thought that the united nations was based on that kind of thinking pelador, but WITH the cold war, came the need to just be involved. No more complicated than that. Once you get involved in a certain kind of "game" it becomes a part of you, lots of people play the game and the power is addictive if you can get it. The cold war represented that, back when sharing intelligence guaranteed everyone was safe, and you couldnt trust anyone not willing to play by the rules. No doubt ALOT of people didnt play by the rules, but as long as everyone thinks they did then it should be ok.

If we are going to be one world it needs to happen now, as opposed to when everything sensible crumbles down, what kind of world would you rather have? one like star trek? or DBZ?

Both DBZ and Star Trek have a centralised government running the whole world. Only DBZ has a King and Star Trek has a President. So I wouldn't mind either. Especially since the King in DBZ is a really nice... dog :p

I don't think everything will completely crumble. I think some places will have to start from scratch, including new currency. But you don't need total economic collapse and civil war for that to happen. America needs a good hard kick up the backside right now. It's not gonna stay in the top five countries list for much longer if it carries on the way it's going.

i think i wa getting at the way people lived, both take place in the far future, star trek was progressive, after the eugenics wars in the nineties and the out breaks of the early 21 st century there was no world destroying cataclysm like in dbz. techno progress and then world unification. After that? warp drive and the federation.

DBZ's world is one world, but its also allowed warlords and such to rule in the outlands with no authority, and are trying to recover from what could have been nuclear war or whatever, that world was advanced in some ways and downright primitive in most. im just saying...it could go either way. id rather go the star trek way.
