I'm ecstatic! We haven't been to a tournament for 10 years and finally I can watch a tournament and actually support a team! We probably won't get very far as we're one of the bottom seeds so we're in for a tough group, but it's great that we'll be there. Definitely makes up for missing out last time because of Henry's volleyball antics

France are in the lowest seed as well, lol Poland/Ukraine, Russia and Croatia would probably be an okay group for the Republic of Ireland to advance from right? Looking at the stats, the two hosts are pretty bad and Croatia aren't that good, the only one there that would trouble Rep of Ireland in my opinion would be Russia. There's a 50/50 chance of getting drawn against one of the hosts though. |

I wouldn't be cofident against Russia, they outclassed us in qualifying. I think we could take Poland or Ukraine and maybe Croatia. We've become a team that are hard to beat, so I'm just hoping we can frustrate the better teams and then maybe nick a goal. It seems inevitable though that we'll get England. That would be interesting. |

That's great I've always wanted another team from Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Ireland to get through. Would be great if they played England. Of course they can't win apparently because England are one of the best teams in the world they've just been on bad form for 8 years ![]() Kevin Doyle is good yeh. I don't know many Irish players....well I probably know a couple more but just can't remember now/don't know they're Irish. Sorry about Bosnia and Herzegovina not getting through. I didn't see the match against France although I know that refs do sometimes favour bigger teams (like Manchester United) because it's expected they'll win and that they must be in the right, and also some teams bribe the referees http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/manchester-united/8968236/Manchester-United-friendly-was-fixed-by-Chinese-referee.html |

England are a notoriously bad international side. I honestly don't know anybody that honestly thinks they're good. It's good to see Ireland in Euro 2012, I just hope they're decent enough to get far in the tournament. Also I suggest you read the articles before you start slamming Manchester United lol, they're my team that I support and that clearly says they had no clue that the guy fixed the game. The same guy also fixed plenty of other matches so you can't really use the "that's what they want you to think" line since it clearly wasn't them but a corrupt official. There was no bribe from Manchester United. |

On IRC I said that England weren't that good and you went all rage. It's common knowledge that refs tend to favour Manchester United on the big decisions ahead of any other teams. |
