Hey. first post here. ![]() I'm currently investing in this box collection of Dragon Ball Z. http://www.amazon.com/Dragon-Ball-Season-Vegeta-Saga/dp/B000KWZ1TI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1320634607&sr=8-1 Does anyone own this collection? It's the Funi dub, the one I watched as a kid on toonami so I figured this was the one I should get. Does anyone know if this remastered in any way or form? I'm so excited to watch DBZ again

Eheheheh... You see, there's a funny story about that... Those are the Funimation remastered sets, which are notorious for being of horrible remastered quality. The colors are so bright and oversaturated that even some of the lines are missing in some shots, and in order for the episodes to be in widescreen format, they cut the tops of bottoms of everything off. So some faces and other things are missing. But if you don't care about quality, go for it; however, the Dragon Boxes and Kai are much better in my opnion. Here are a few links to other, better products. I would choose one of these instead. Please ask me if you have any questions about any of them, because I want to help fans find the best quality and be happy with the product. I almost made the mistake of purchasing the Orange Bricks, and I'm glad I was informed enough not to. http://www.amazon.com/Dragon-Ball-Box-One/dp/B002KPINF2/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1320635168&sr=8-1 http://www.amazon.com/Dragon-Ball-Level-1-1-Blu-ray/dp/B005E2YL4U/ref=sr_1_1?s=movies-tv&ie=UTF8&qid=1320635210&sr=1-1 http://www.amazon.com/Dragon-Ball-Kai-Part-One/dp/B0036ZA8BM/ref=sr_1_7?s=movies-tv&ie=UTF8&qid=1320635242&sr=1-7 |

I do think the Orange Bricks are ***** but I see you're going for nostalgia here. The Orange Bricks are cheap and they contain the Bruce Faulconer score. If you have a Blu-Ray player I would highly recommend you get the new Blu-Ray sets. http://www.amazon.com/Dragon-Ball-Level-1-1-Blu-ray/dp/B005E2YL4U/ref=sr_1_1?s=movies-tv&ie=UTF8&qid=1320635969&sr=1-1 |

Thanks! I immediately canceled my order. What is the differences between the Dragon Box's and the DVD collection I selected in episodes? There are 9 versions of the DVD collection I ordered and 7 of the dragon box's? And is the quality between the two really that different? |

I own all the orange brick sets and abosulutely love them. Sure some the remastering process didnt pan out but if you are a fan of the old funi dub and faulconer's score, then these are the sets for you. Toonami for life EDIT: You do NOT want the dragon boxes if you like the old dub. It only has japanese music Edited by Noir, Nov 7 2011, 03:30 AM.

Dude don't bother getting the Dragon Boxes. They're out of print and box 2 will cost you a fortune. Plus I doubt you would like it since it does not contain the Faulconer track. The Dragon Boxes have superior video quality and a better Japanese track. Their main target is the Japanese crowd. Edited by Ani-Nation, Nov 7 2011, 03:31 AM.

If I were you, I would go for either the Blu ray sets or DBZ Kai. They seem to fit your situation best. The Blu ray sets are the best quality you could possibly find with everything that you're looking for, and DBZ Kai has a much better dub (better acting, no filler, cool music), and there are fewer episodes and sets. EDIT: To MajinCooler, that isn't always the case. I personally like both the dub and the sub (I liked the dub first), and I own the Dragon Boxes and love them, so what you're saying doesn't apply to everyone. We just have to find out what he likes. He wants the old dub that was on toonami so Kai isnt the best choice haha. But if you got a Blu Ray player than go for the new Blu Ray sets coming out. Its the old Funi dub Edited by Noir, Nov 7 2011, 03:34 AM.

Well, Amazon didn't cancel my order anyway. :p, I'll probably watch it in 4:3 because I don't want any faces being cut off. Although, I will hold off on ordering my DBZ set and work on my DB set. ![]() Thanks for the help folks, I really appreciate it! |

A lot of people don't even know what Kai really is. I didn't know until I actually sat down and watched it, and then I liked it a lot better, so who knows. ![]() And no problem. I would do some more research before making a definite decision. And the blue bricks for DB are just fine. Get them!

I enjoyed watching some Kai on Nickelodeon. The only problems I really have is that the Buu saga and Garlic Jr. mini saga isn't in it. And I don't have a blue ray player, I gave my PS3 to my GF's dad so he could play BF3 :3 |
