Just because they feel some way doesn't mean that one persons logic is better than the next.

This is how the chain is shattered. We can disprove a lot of accounts in the bible. The main one is that the Earth is only 3-10k years old. We can prove it's billions of years old, which breaks the chain. I could go on, but this example is enough to break it. I will quit bringing up specifics though, even though the reason people believe in god is because of the records in the bible.... So if I want to disprove god without using the bible how would I go about it? You simply can't disprove it, but the same holds true for all the crazy things out in the universe that are majorly accepted to be false. If your argument ends on, disprove God without using the records of him then it's a pointless argument to begin with. Of course the probability of him existing in this situation is so close to 0% it's not even funny... Edited by Cal, Oct 14 2011, 10:38 PM.

Many people feel 99.9(bar)% that there's a designer (and designer would be God in God theory) which I posted before. Again, it comes down to opinion which I've been trying to say for a long time now. Just because someone says it's true doesn't mean it is.

You're speaking in the Philosophical sense that not everything can be proven true. While that is true in that sense. In real world truths we CAN prove things to be true. For example you may change 2 +2 to equal something else by changing words or symbols. But the true foundation of it still holds true. However logic can be changed though it would have to come in the way of changing how we perceive things to be false(that can't be confirmed so isn't taken seriously) Quote: many people thought that the war in iraq is logical What do you mean "logical" here? It's two different arguments. 2+2 is correct and is logical since it's not a shady/controversial area. When we are speaking in terms when we have little info and are controversial (such as the existence of weapons of iraq, or God), then it's a different type of logic that's called subjective logic. That's when it's to each his own. You can read more here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Subjective_logic. Anyway this type of thing helps you in your argument against "Creationists" since they tend to say things like "believe in yourself" and "feel christ and you'll undedstand" and that's logic for them. When you throw away subjective logic then the only thing left is science which in it's bear state favors neither argument.

Obviously these debates will always endure with both sides feeling they are right. Some theories of science don't favor religion(Abrahamic ones mostly) though I'll leave that out of this and be done with this thread.
