personally, i think it was simply measuring the flaw in the measuring device. of course, that's why they need independant experiments made with different sets of equipment.

they also need to account for other possibilities, such as a minor shift in the distance the neutrinos traveled due to fluctuations in space/time.

i think, for such a small variance from the accepted speed, that there are way too many variables to say with any certainty that the neutrinos actually were speeding.

and, beyond that, what if the idea of relativity was correct, but the measurement was wrong? what if the speed limit is actually something like 1.0000001x the speed of light, and light is actually affected by relativity just like everything else?
That's very possible, also this is:

lol I'm trying to look at this from all possible angles, each outcome seems as likely as the next.

besides, there are already several options based on existing physical knowledge for getting from point a to point b faster than a photon. most of them involve some form of not actually moving, or other forms of "cheating". i still think eezo (mass effect) is the most plausible solution, since there actually should be a particle that should act like that( higg's boson).
list of canon sources:

the DB manga, and the Dr. Slump manga as it applies to the crossover during the rra saga.

list of non canon sources:

everything else, regardless of origin, format, or quality.

for those that blindly follow word of god

So you want to go back in time and makeout with your mother?

Anyway time travel backwards in relative terms is impossible, or an oxymoron. However, traveling to the future has always been a realistic possibility if man can break the speed of light.

I'm weird like that...also I'd get to fight my fathers enemies. That and I'd get to ride the doloria.

Impossible? I'm sure someone one day will figure that out and that person will come to this time and tell you how you are wrong.

Space/time is made up of 4 dimensions, going back in time simply isn't allowed. However, (bringing up something that's totally useless to this discussion) some scientist believe worm holes will take you to another dimension, whereas it's possible to end up in the past in "a different Earth", and yes I do mean a space/time rip like the one that Super Buu & Gotenks made in the series.

The only problem is it seems to be impossible to control a wormhole, so good luck if you decide to try and go through one.
