I think you're convincing me even more that Buu Saga belonged with GT

I mean I didn't hate the Buu Saga and I haven't really watched much of GT so I can't hate on it. But yeah, it just did some of the same annoying things GT did.

How can it possibly belong to GT when it was made by Toriyama and not Toei

You know for a fact I didn't mean it literally belonged to GT. I mean that most of the saga seemed to be quite a mess, like GT.

Well, I guess this is where opinion and preference come into play. It's not completely like GT, but for me it kind of leads into the junk that GT was. I'm included in this, but does everybody hate GT, just wondering.

No, theres a lot of people that like GT. I use to until i realized how lame it made some characters (Gohan, Trunks) and how annoying pan is.

Good, sometimes, I just flat out feel bad for the creators of GT. It's like wow, 64 episodes and each one was hated just as much the last.

i liked gt as a standalone series. i just wish it was "gt" instead of "dbgt". by itself, it's great. very entertaining (and the para para brothers have the most badass attack in every dragonball series), but taken as a continuation of dragonball, it's horrible.
list of canon sources:

the DB manga, and the Dr. Slump manga as it applies to the crossover during the rra saga.

everything else, regardless of origin, format, or quality.

The Thing Chi-Chi Keeps in Her Drawer

The Buu saga is my favorite saga, just due to all the character development that was done (particularly in Vegeta).

It could have been considered its own series, but it would have felt out of place in DragonBall for one series to have one main antagonist, since all the others, even GT have had multiple antagonists. It wouldn't have worked well with GT, though, since GT focuses on Goku being a kid again, some new characters, and characters who have greatly aged, as opposed to the seven years inbetween the Cell and Buu saga.

not really. the buu arc still has an ensemble cast, like dragonball, unlike gt, which focused on 2 main characters (goku and pan) with 2 more major supporting characters (trunks and vegeta), and everyone else is nearly annoyed.

in the buu arc:

1. goten, kid trunks, and kaioshin are introduced as major characters.

2. piccolo and mr. satan are significant supporting characters.

3. goku, vegeta, gotenks, vegeto, and gohan all get a shot at the main villain.

4. even minor characters like dende and tien are shown to still be useful in the right situation.

Sometimes I think Airka just put Tien in that situation just for the fans or lolz sake. Cause most people that watched it felt like he appeared from no where and should have been dead by Super Buu's killer rays.

It was stated that not everybody was killed, so by that I assume the more skilled people like Tenshinhan and Nam (if he wasn't too old) and such probably survived. I think Toriyama was right to give Tenshinhan some spotlight, at least. Krillin was there throughout most of the saga (hell, he was there the entire time in the anime), and the same goes for Yamcha. Out of all the cast, Tenshinhan got shafted the worst besides perhaps Piccolo. I mean, dude got maybe six panels before he was taken out completely.
