 Yeah, it's possible to follow both...I was just being sarcastic anyway.

Gohan has two main advantages over Goku anyway. 1. Gohan has more potential than Goku, and 2. Gohan's potential release is in his Base (I know some will call BS on that...oh well), and Goku's is a huge energy waster.

Goku would have to overcome both of those to even contend with Gohan, and I seriously doubt that.

goku got stronger between the daimao arc and the 23rd budokai from his training with kami. or was he wearing weights just for fun? the fact is, there is no alternate universe within the universe. you can talk about out of universe explanations all you want, but there is only 1 goku in the dragonball universe. that goku got a full hidden power release, and then immediately jumped back into training and continued to improve. because akira toriyama defines hidden power as: a person's true power, that they have hidden away all along. there are no reboots or retcons within the series. you don't know when akira toriyama decided on a definition of hidden power, you don't know when he decided goku was a saiyan, you don't KNOW anything besides what is printed within the pages of that manga. we can speculate all we want about some things, but some things are stated and incontrovertible.

stated: goku drank the super god water, which drew out all of a person's hidden power.
stated: goku continued his training right after the battle with daimao, and continued to improve in strength, speed, and ki manipulation.
stated: dormant ability is the person's true power, that they have hidden away all along.
stated: goku is a saiyan born on planet vegeta. this does not contradict anything that happened before it, and therefore there was no retcon.

speculated: goku didn't actually become a saiyan until it was mentioned in the series. since there was never an editorial or authorial reboot or retcon of the series, this is false. goku was a saiyan all along, we (including Akira Toriyama) just didn't know it yet.

what happens out of universe does not affect what happens in universe. there are certain facts in universe that remain true even before they are revealed, unless they contradict facts that are given before. goku was never stated to be a mutant anything until ginyu. his race was never described until after the saiyans were introduced.
You are wrong about the retcon lunar, it was admitted, it was done, its public knowledge that a retcon was made. I don know where you got that from considering dragon ball and dbz are two completely different books and as explained by akira half of dbz wasnt even his idea. :p so keep dreaming just because you made what you said sound good. The retcon happened. Otherwise i agree.

Personally I think Goku wins because of Goku ssj > Gohan SSJ, Goku SSJ2 > Gohan SSJ2

Are you talking about post z-sword training Gohan? SSJ2 Gohan post sword is wayyyyyyyy stronger than ssj2 goku in the buu arc. Same goes for all his other forms. I'd also put Base Gohan at around 4/5ths of MSSJ Goku in terms of power.

 Gohan's potential is stressed over and over again. Where is Goku's potential stressed? In early DragonBall, perhaps, but once Gohan came into the picture, he was the big man on campus in terms of potential and how far he would go later in the series. That was Toriyama's vision. In the end, Goku became the true hero once again, of course, but that doesn't change the fact that Gohan's potential was far and away more than Goku's.

he said it himself in a translated interview, i watched it, not read it. He said that most of the drawings and idea for the anime storyline was his idea. But he didnt really want to go in that direction, i was referring to the anime KP not the manga. Although on the dbz manga he wasnt working alone. Which would more than likely explain some of the mistakes spotted in the series. AT sold his rights to toei a long time ago, so long ago that most of his interviews he says quite literally the same thing all the time, answering the same questions. You could see the tired look on his face. He hates dbz. Its why he sold it. The link itself was provided here somewhere. dont remember who put it up. He wanted to end it with the manga and toei wanted to make money.
