Because he had the USSJ transformation and he hasn't used it against Semi-Perfect Cell. If he used it against him, Cell would be dead after 3 minutes after the transformation to USSJ. He could get 18# out of Cell before Cell completely transform, like when Gohan in SSJ2 did to Cell. I think USSJ is near to SSJ2 in strength. Chrome Favourite Manga Dragonball	Well, if I understand you correctly, it seemed to take Trunks a while to power up to USSJ, which would not really give him enough time to beat semi-perfect Cell before Vegeta allowed him to absorb 18. I certainly don't think that he could have beaten Perfect Cell as an USSJ, especially since he pretty much lost when this same battle occurred. Lastly, I don't put USSJ on the same level as SSJ2.
	darkwarrior has anyone ever stopped to think that maybe Trunks just bought his sword somewhere or something? There's nothing really special about it. Y2J Well it did manage to slice Frieza into a shishkebab so it must've been packing more power than your average blade. Hell even Zelda's sword couldn't pull off that ****. ObsessiveFanGirl I don't believe in power levels after the Frieza Saga. Now, there's an idea.

Bu trunks was just too late,he should've been the one to handle cell.

If you are referring to this then I agree I think Trunks was stupid. Vegeta and Trunks could have kicked semi perfects cells but when they were ascended saiyans but Vegeta wanted to fight Cell at full power

It was because USSJ gives you a choice between more power and less speed, or less power and more speed. It's not as great as it looks. also, he didn't want to hurt his father's pride by using it in front of him.

He tried to stop Cell but was stopped by Cell's Energy Field. USSJ wouldn't have made a difference. Plus, ASSJ was plenty enough to beat Semi-Perfect Cell.

Posts: 5,568 Group: Suspended Member #5,921 Joined: March 29, 2011 Favourite Anime dbz What Browser do you use? ie9 Favourite Manga akira	Trunks ONLY mistake was BELIEVING he had found the answer, hiding the form to keep from hurting his fathers pride is a little too dumb of a reason to NOT practice and get some time in on that form, if anything he might have found a way to increase his speed and bulk DOWN just a little to move better.otherwise the ki weighting put trunks muscles up to arnold size and he was too small to be that big. So yeah trunks was dumb to not practice in that form. But the USSJ was deemed to big and sloppy by goku who wanted to maintain speed and agility instead, but trunks had MORE than enough time to practice that form, NOT knowing that vegeta had managed to almost achieve what he wanted to do. By applying some of that ussj strength to his ASSJ form he was able to put himself up to over 50% of gokus full power mssj. Which actually testifies to exactly HOW strong goku really got and makes you wonder what he could have done further had he NOT concentrated (so much) on transforming gohan into such a beast. Im a firm believer the ussj form could have been whittled down to a acceptable size and used for what it was needed. Even initial perfect cell said trunks could beat him down, if he could hit him.

Letting Cell get to the android for a better challenge. Personally I don't think it would have made a difference because he hardly gains any speed at all even though his strength becomes comparable to MSSJ Goku. Vegeta could have done the same thing, if that's what it would have taken for Cell to absorb the android as planned.

I agree with most of what have you said, but if Trunks went to USSJ wouldn't that break up the field and would be able to hit Cell with all of his powers and after that Cell spit out #18? I think USSJ's Multiplier is about x3 and SSJ2 is x4. His strength is more than enough to take out Cell, but his speed is even lower that that of a Super Saiyan, let alone ASSJ.

And the USSJ form wouldn't have helped break through the barrier. USSJ helps give the person more brute strength, there's no known ki increase. Brute Strength wouldn't have helped break through the barrier at all. If Trunks had taken the time to turn USSJ, Cell's transformation would've been complete just as Trunks' had finished. Overall it would've been pointless.

Trunks was always really focused on getting the job done, since he knew that the fate of the world depended on defeating Cell and the Androids. I'm pretty sure that if it wasn't for the purpose of making the saga longer (and more epic) he would have taken Cell out when he had the chance, and let Vegeta just deal with it.
