Most of Kai's music reminds of theatrical scores (aside from the ones plagiarized).

SSJ Goku transformation: Kai wins. The scream Goku makes in Kai is just so...badass. In Z he sounds so whiny and annoying, I can't take him seriously. Also, "POP GOES THE WEASEL" is not a good line.
Vegeta goes SSJ: I cannot stand the Vegeta voice Sabat used for the Z dub. He sounds like a moron, while in the Kai dub Vegeta sounds like an intelligent, proud strategic warrior. Plus, the dialogue is much better in Kai.
I am Speech: Kai. Freeza sounds horrible in the Z dub, as does Goku. I respect if you grew up with the Z dub, but it does not have good acting, at all.
Bulma and Vegeta: It's filler, so I hate both versions of it. Lol
Overall, Kai wins. Better acting, scripting and music. Z really is a horrible dub. And I don't see why people complain about Gohan's Kai voice. It sounds fine to me. In fact, I think it's way better than his Z voice. Maybe it's because I'm used to his voice because I hear his actress as Luffy.
BTW, I did watch the Z dub first when I was little. I despised it. Then I read the manga and fell in love. I just hated the voices, they sounded strange to me. I loved the series after reading the original Dragon Ball manga.

I just hate his Kai voice. I'm a bit mixed sometimes. I tried to judge them un-biasedly, but Funi isn't a bad dub to me even without the nostalgia value (not that it has much nostalgia on me)

BTW, I did watch the Z dub first when I was little. I despised it. Yeah, pop goes the weasel is just terrible. You're definitely right about Vegeta sounding more intelligent, proud and strategic, especially when he ran off Gero. In Z, all I heard from Vegeta was, "What was that!" and "SAD FOR YOUUUUU". I mean Vegeta sounded like such a brat in Z. And about you hating it when you were little, I appreciate consistency.

Who's Kai voice Gohan's, I was replying to the person above me.
Freeza's too though....sometimes... It's great sometimes but other times annoying to me, it's weird.
I also loved the pop goes the weasel line XD It was like "Oh hell naw"

I like him high pitched, and I would of liked Stephanie a little bit more if her acting was better in Z.
Edit: But either way, you're a Gohan fan, so that makes you very cool.

I was young when I watched the English dub. I hated it until my aunt bought me a bilingual DVD set, which is when I watched the Japanese version. She also got me the Manga of the original Dragon ball, which is when I fell in love with the series. I wasn't being inconsistent. I did hate the dub, but I loved the series. I meant that literally, I LIKE that you were consistent. You didn't like it when it was on and you still don't like it.

Contrary to what people believe, I think Kikuchi on Kai was pretty good considering the limited amount they had to work with. I still like it more than Faulconer's music

The thing is when we debate the dubs
Kai/Japanese fans better= faithful to the original what AT intended When it comes to Funi fans it seems like they don't care about that sort of stuff.
Whenever I hear Stephanie's Gohan (Piccolo sacrifice scene) I cringe. I'm sorry but imo the acting is awful. I'm sure she would of been MUCH better in Kai due to experience but Funi didn't hire her. Stephanie was a miscast so Funi decided to find someone they thought fit Gohan better. They looked for an actor closer to the original and Colleen fit the part.
Kai was not intended for old Funi fans. When Funimation got the show their main goal was to make a faithful dub that new and longtime Japanese fans could enjoy.

I loved the series after reading the original Dragon Ball manga. i liked this guys comment for the truth of the matter, the original funimation dubs actin is just HORRIBLE< and in the end thats what it comes down to, you could tell there was no real effort put into it. Good thing sean came back for kai though, vic mignogna is NOT goku, he's FULLMETAL alchemist Edward elric, period.
Otherwise listening to the dubs is just plain OUT of the question. Cant stand any of them compared to the japanese original, and im not just saying that, I always preferred it.
kai throwing the bastard in there was a touch of keeping it japanese, as they cussed up a storm in the original.
