E.G. One of my favourite's, The final Kamehameha battle, Cell vs Gohan. In the manga, they both fire their beams, and quickly Vegeta intervenes and Gohan overpowers Cell. In the anime (the filler additions) it shows Piccolo and all the Z fighters give it their all to help defeat cell, thy give heartfelt speeches about Gohan and such. When Vegeta blasts cell, his return is given more impact as all the other fighters had failed to damage cell, it was up to Vegeta, their last hope to help, it makes his decision to help imo more meaningful. Also it allows the other Z fighters to get more screen time as they had faded into obscurity. Edited by oodle, Sep 3 2011, 12:21 PM.

The extended Goku vs Majin Vegeta has to rank first for me. Don't really need to explain why.

Yamcha proving his true power by beating olibu easily who is equal to pikkon with weights who was pretty damn near SSJ Cell games Goku! Now that just shows how much of a winner he is!from getting beaten by a kamikaze cabbage(pretty funny) to beating an SSJ tier foe. |

I love a lot of the filler..maybe because thats what Im used to..When i watch Kai I get mad because it seems to make some of the moments not as awesome because they cut out the build up |

list of canon sources: the DB manga, and the Dr. Slump manga as it applies to the crossover during the rra saga. list of non canon sources: everything else, regardless of origin, format, or quality. for those that blindly follow word of god | |

Probably all of the training during the Saiyan saga, and Goku meeting Princess Snake, and also falling off the road. That's pretty much when I stopped watching Kai, when I realized they cut those parts out. I absolutely LOVED the character exposition and development there. We actually got to watch Gohan change from a spoiled and babied bookworm into a quirky outdoorsman (which really makes for a nostalgia trip since he really reminds me of Kid Goku at that point). Speaking of Kid Goku, watching Goku go through his misadventures on Snake Way really does remind me of his childhood days, which is a very good thing. |

Definitely the 6 months Gohan spent alone. Gohan did a significant amount of growing up during his time alone. |

This has to be the 3rd time in the past month this thread has come up. Anyway I agree with you. Practically all the filler in that episode made it amazing compared to it's manga counterpart. Especially: 6:08 and 0:21 |

I really liked all the otherworld filler. It was some of the best episodes I have seen on Dragonball in my opinion. They should have had a whole spin off of Goku's otherworld adventures. |

Great moments being mentioned here guys I can understand people's viewpoint of "The manga didn't have this, why should the anime?" Then go ahead and watch Kai. Personally, and I'm glad to see that my opinion isn't standing alone, I love the filler. Except the pointless gasping and staring when a new enemy powers up. The filler helps with character development, and we get to just see them with more screen time and we're exposed to their character. I also thought the comic relief of a lot of the filler was awesome.
