Kibit's line makes more sense that it's given; he roughly states that numerous Kai have tried to release the sword and have failed. First a side note, I believe that there's a difference between releasing the sword from the stone and being able to lift and hold the sword. Rather, IMO, it took a lot more strength to release the sword then to wield it. Recall that the Elder Kaioshin was of 15th generations prior to East Kaioshin's generation. And this isn't human generations, Golden fruit Shin-jin are rarely born and live for millions of millions of years, and few of them still will become the Kaioshin. When you think of how many Shin-jin and Golden Fruit Shin-jin could have tried to release the Z Sword, it's much easily to believe that some didn't need to try. Also, I'd wonder whether there was an instance each whihc the Kaioshin would have even needed to rely on the Legend of the Z Sword. They were apparently the strongest beings in the Universe already. You'd have to wonder whether there was anything stronger than Cold and Family and the Android Saga Super Saiyans. If I was already the strongest in the world, and I was charged to oversee the universe and sustain order, would I really even need to pay attention to the Z Sword? Discuss. |

It is possible your theory holds weight. There's a theory that South Kaioshin was weaker than SSj Teen Gohan (or SSj2 Teen Gohan, depending) because he apparently couldn't release the sword but Gohan could. That theory depends on the principle that because South Kaioshin's "thing" was strength that he'd want to prove it by releasing the sword, and the assumption that he actually tried, which can't be proven. |

The whole Southkaioshin power debate is actually not incredibly hard to demystify. I belive in one of my prior topics, I paid a bit of attention to Mr. Buu. And it all depend on the source of Mr. Buu's power and how strong he's considered to be compared to SSJ2 Vegeta in the least. An example is if:
assume:
So another example, Dai = .667, South = 1.333,
